Ruth Van Dine, RPT is a Registered Piano Technician of the Piano Technicians Guild (www.ptg.org), and a member of the Rhode Island chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild (www.ri-ptg.com). Mrs. Van Dine is a 25year piano technician veteran with her own busy practice here in Rhode Island, servicing churches, universities, theaters, concert stages and, private customers. She is a graduate of the Advanced Piano Technology program of the North Bennet Street School and has continued her education to include a wide range of specialties including polyester and case repair. She has been an instructor at National and Regional Piano Technicians Guild conferences and seminars, written articles for Piano Technicians Guild Journal, mentors up-and-coming piano technicians and volunteers as a docent and guide for community organizations.

Trefler's has been owned and operated by the Trefler family since 1921. It all began in Germany, when Abraham Trefler began a small business for himself building and restoring furniture. Abraham’s son, Eric, was one of the few survivors of the camps in Poland and Germany during WWII. Upon his liberation, he left Europe for New York, and finally settled in Boston, MA. After spending some time working as a furniture restorer for the antique dealers on Beacon Street, he opened his own business. Using the expertise he learned from his father back in Germany, he quickly became renowned for his uncanny ability to restore almost any kind of art object. Today, Trefler’s is still owned and operated by the Trefler family. We expertly mix century-old techniques with modern restoration technology to create some of the best repairs in the world. Tim Flaherty has 28 years of experience in all aspects of furniture repair, restoration, and reupholstery. He works directly with residential customers as well as contracting with furniture retailers and manufacturers. Offering pick-up and delivery, and work done on-site.
