"John gave me an estimate over the summer after letting me know his schedule wasn't open until fall. After looking at the sagging plaster ceilings in our 1920s house, he recommended covering with drywall, and he did the work in December. John and his colleague did two ceilings in 4 days (about 700 square feet total) and they are a huge improvement. We're already planning to hire him again!"

"My husband and I are remodeling our living room and dining room and he saw Wilson plastering truck at Lowe s and after calling about 3 other plastering business to get quotes, Wilson plastering was the only one to get back to him and came right out to the house to asses the job and He gave us a fair quote for the job that needed to be done. He was here within a few days with his work crew to start the job. They got the job done in one day and were very neat and clean. They put down paper to protect the floor and covered the walls and such that were not being plastered. My husband and I would highly recommend them. In fact we plan to have them come back to do 2 other rooms in our house."

Customers say: Terrific value

"I removed tile on my kitchen walls. As it turned out I damaged the drywall beyond repair. Legasy Drywall and Plaster came to provide an estimate and actually spent time to remove all the damaged drywall. They will return as soon as the electrical work and granite removal has been completed to replace the drywall. The price was very fair and I am confident they will complete the job to my satisfaction."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Drywall repair is typically completed within a day, depending on damage extent.

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.
