"Having a special needs son I was nervous on how we could have major work done in our home with nurses and aides in our home daily. Terrance and his crew were beyond accommodating for my son. Continuing to move their tools and materials for my son and nurses. They were enjoyable to have in our home. The workmanship was beyond superior and I being in the construction business for 40 years had not one single item on a punch list reviewing the final work. Terrance and his crew were conscientious and neat and clean with their workmanship. We will miss them and look forward to using them on our next home project. They made a commitment on their timing for the project and their workmanship and they far exceeded our expectations."

"The father/son duo were professional and courteous. Immediately went to work and efficiently replaced our banister including a recommendation to build out the wall for better stability. Will definitely consider for future projects."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

The tile spacing you should use will depend on the tile and where you’re installing it. Choosing the right tile spacers to maintain a consistent gap between your tiles is tricky. Generally, tile spacing shouldn’t be less than 2 millimeters on walls and 3 millimeters on floors because of stress relief requirements. Getting it wrong can result in uneven tiles and early repairs.

Many homeowners have successfully retiled a bathroom themselves. It can be a challenging but rewarding process, but it’s best for someone who already has at least intermediate DIY skills.

It’s best to install a shower door after the bathroom tile is in place to ensure you have accurate measurements. If you try installing a shower door first, the tile might be too thick to install afterward, or the tile will be too thin and create a gap between the shower doors that allows water to leak. With the tile in place first, you’ll know the exact shower door size that you need.

For professional labor and materials, it would cost between $6,000 and $28,000 to install 1,000 square feet of Saltillo tile flooring. If that’s out of your budget, you could consider laying the tiles yourself or choosing a less expensive type of flooring. For example, vinyl flooring costs just $2 to $7 per square foot, so for a 1,000-square-foot space, you’d pay $2,000 to $7,000.
