"These guys are complete rip-offs!!! I got two other estimates for the replacement of a service cable. They were $500.00 and $700.00. Gen3's price... $4100.00 It took an inordinate amount of phone calls, texts, and emails to get an appointment for an estimate. Then they did not bother to send it to me. I had to call back for the estimate. These guys are the worst, most dishonest operators I have ever seen. They are 8 times more expensive than every one else. THINK ABOUT IT..... 800% more than the competition. Do not call these guys. OBVIOUSLY A DUMB GUY that thinks the public is STUPID. Don't trust them!!!!!! CROOKS"

We are general mechanical electrical contractors specializing in residential and commercial applications your one stop shop for all your needs

"We hired this contractor almost a year ago to do various projects. The work was supposed to be finished in 10 days according to the contract. We are here almost a year later and there is still work that is unfinished. I paid Martin before all of the work was completed, and I can’t get ahold of him to finish the work now. The pipe still hasn’t been cut, and there is still a huge piece of concrete in our side yard. I’m not sure what to do now."

Home Energy & Comfort provides homeowners and families in Southeastern Pennsylvania with solutions to their Home Performance problems. With the combined experience of over 50 years in the energy efficiency and residential construction industries, the company brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to every homeowner we work with. And we are THE ONLY Home Performance contractor based in Southeastern Pennsylvania that has been awarded the GoldStar Certification from the Building Performance Institute (bpi.org). We look forward to making you and your family more healthy, wealthy, and warm!

"I have lived in my house for two years, and have had problems with rooms that wouldn't get cool in the summer (despite central air conditioning), or stay warm in the winter. I had to move my bedroom after the first summer and winter, and could not comfortably sit for long in my living room. I replaced all my windows with triple paned ones in March 2020, which made little difference. I had PECO do an energy assessment of my home last spring. Home Energy & Comfort was on PECO's list of recommended contractors. I researched them further, and their reviews were impressive. I soon found out why. Gordon Clark, one of the co-owners, and a crew of three to four workers spent two days at my home in early June 2020. To make a long story short, they insulated everywhere that needed it (including the garage which is underneath my living room), air sealed gaps and cracks where needed, sealed up ducts, spray foamed rim and band-joist area, and did air seal blowing tests before and after the work. The team was always polite and respectful, and masked due to the Coronavirus. They protected everywhere they worked with plastic sheets and tarps, and cleaned up well afterward. They also did all the work to submit paperwork for rebates from PECO, and deducted the rebate amounts from my bill rather than have me wait for them. This has honestly been the best money I have invested in my home. The hot days have shown me the vast improvement in energy efficiency. I was able to move my bedroom back to the bigger room in the southwest corner, which is now very comfortable. An added bonus is the reduction of dust in my home. I am very happy I chose Home Energy & Comfort to do the work in my home!"

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Leaving vents open but closing doors in unused rooms will probably not save money on your energy bill. Closed doors prevent the natural flow of air throughout the home, which could reduce the efficiency of the overall HVAC system. They could also restrict airflow into and through the return vents, making the HVAC system less efficient.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

A couple of the best ways to find a reputable energy auditor is by determining whether they are HEP-certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). This certification will help you narrow down your list of professionals to the most qualified pros with the most relevant experience.

You can also choose from the Department of Energy’s certified list of energy auditors or Angi’s contractor licensing tool to find pros in your area.

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. If you’re concerned about the minimal bump to your electricity consumption, you can opt for smart tint, which doesn’t require electricity to work.

While parts of the appraisal are out of your control, there are some things you can do to potentially raise the home’s value. You can make necessary repairs and upgrades before the appraiser visits—an appraiser can only value what is currently part of the home, not its potential. You can also provide the appraiser with the cost of recent upgrades. The appraiser will likely increase the value of your home by about 50% or more of what you paid for those improvements.
