"They were very good / timely with their communication. Initially came by to give me an estimate. Was a little higher than the other estimate I got but they provided a water trailer which the other didn't which was good since we have a well. They came the next day and Power washed the deck and replaced one board that had routed. The next day the theysprayed the deck with Shirwin Williams solid color stain that was mixed to match the stain on the house siding. Did a good job. Would recomend."

"Jason and Kenny were awesome. They were very meticulous with excellent attention to detail. They matched paint and stain. They also repaired areas of wall where the previous owner had left significant damage. Their skim coating made the walls look new again. Customer service, communication and reliability were superb. I would definitely recommend for painting and finishing."

"Our house badly needed painting. Estimation process: Mike from Papa's Painting came to give the estimate a few days after I contacted them, had suggestions as to color, materials needed for some repairs and products that would enhance the look of the house. He explained the process, length of time needed to complete the job and when they could start. He met every deadline. Painting: Mike, Brandon, Brian and Phil worked on our job. They arrived every morning, worked for the entire day and did a beautiful job power washing, scraping, priming and painting the house. They asked questions if necessary. All communication was pleasant. We highly recommend Papa's Painting."

"He has done everything in my house, exterior and interior. I would never use anyone but Marc Konvolinka. It's a huge room, I had a team of 4 guys and they had it done in no time. One thing that I think is very important is I've used the same team now for 8 years and I see the same people all the time. I know these guys and I trust them. I feel very comfortable with them if I have to leave the house or go somewhere while they are here. I feel very comfortable leaving them in my home. It was $1500 including I will keep all the paint and I talked to Marc whether I should pick it up or whether he should pick it up and he always tells me he will get it because he gets a better price. He's also looking out for the consumer. His team is truly the best. They were here at 7:00 in the morning. They had now painted my entire house and now I have nothing else to paint. I can't say enough about their painting, they are the best."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Beyond liquid rubber, homeowners can use sealants, stains, membranes, or tapes as waterproofing options. Oil-based or water-based sealants soak into the wood, creating a moisture-resistant barrier. Waterproofing stains—available in transparent, semi-transparent, and solid colors—add both protection and style to your deck. For heavy-duty waterproofing, deck membranes and waterproof tapes can be applied under the deck boards to direct water away from the structure below. Whatever method you choose, clean and prep the deck first to ensure the best, longest-lasting results.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.
