"I wish I could give more than 5 stars! A tree in our yard fell over in a snowstorm, blocking the sidewalk and half of the (busy) road in front of our house. Carlos and his father came out that same day (while the snow was still falling) to remove the portion of the tree that was in the street. I didn't even ask them to come so quickly - they offered! The next day, when the roads were plowed, they came out with their chipper to remove the rest of the tree. I couldn't believe how responsive they were, or how reasonable the price was. I will 100% hire them again."

"Very well. I really admire Ken because he traveled a long, long way to do this work. He is very thorough and identified a much larger problem than the one I thought I had. Ken does nice work and sincerely tries to help. The only knock I have is that he was 2 hours late to the appointment. In fairness to him, he had to travel at least an hour to get to me and was unfamiliar with the roads, and he did keep in contact. That said, he was late starting the job."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it.

Sealing coat asphalt after 6-12 months and then every 2-3 years is recommended.

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.

Cobblestone is just one of many driveway materials. Other, more economical, albeit less elaborate options include concrete, asphalt, and gravel.

If you want a material that most closely resembles cobblestone, your best option is bricks or pavers. Both cost anywhere from $10 to $50 per square foot and can be laid in all kinds of patterns. Depending on the type of paver you choose, you can also get a good bang for your buck by investing in durable natural stone.

Professionals ensure a solid base and smooth finish, enhancing durability and appearance.
