"We were so pleased with this company.  I found them on Angies List and sent an inquiry email, and received an almost immediate return phone call to set up an estimate.  Scott came out just a few days later at dusk and set up the lighting that we wanted so we could actually see what it would look like, which was extremely helpful.  He also suggested uplighting a second tree which we hadn't considered, and it was a very good suggestion.  We received an email estimate the next morning, accepted it that day, and the job was done today - just 4 days after accepting the estimate.  The installers were very polite and helpful, and even though they had to dig a very shallow trench in the front yard to run wire to the tree, and across the driveway (between the concrete slabs), nothing is visible.  We also had them install a timer that automatically adjusts itself for changes in sunset times and when we switch to and from daylight savings time, so there is nothing for us to do.  The lights they use contain LED lights which should last 5 years and are very energy efficient.  They also installed a new transformer.
I absolutely love it when I get a prompt response to a request for service or for an estimate.  My dealings with this company started off in a very promising manner and they continued to make us happy throughout.  We would recommend them and would definitely use them again.

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. "Great work. Moved most of the heavy items in the basement, epoxy finish looks amazing. Third floor room went from blue, orange, purple and lime green child's room to a neutral any age bedroom. They tinted the primer for best coverage of old color, two coats of paint. Instead of just touching up the baseboards as we agreed, they repainted them completely so the finish would look better. This is the second job they've done for us. Wonderful company!

"The landscaping looks great.  They were friendly and professional.  Sione suggested growing grass on hill side beds instead of mulching.  In the long run this would save us money instead of having to mulch the hill every spring.  In addition, over time the mulch just slides down the hill leaving empty spots in beds.  Also, a few days before they were scheduled to work, a tree was struck by lighting and fell in our backyard. They were able to remove the tree in addition to the scheduled work.  They couldn't finish all the work on the scheduled day due to lighting storms but they came back on July 4th to finish mulching and edging the front yard.

"It went well and it looks nice and neat at first sight . I did not notice all the cords bunched up next to the mantle until after the technician left. That does not look so nice. It is on the far corner and is not noticeable when walking into the room, but is very noticeable when on that side. It is something I will have to deal with ."

"     In order to complete to layout design I submitted a drawing of the room as well as a series of photos.  The website for Homemade design has a questionaire what helps define your overall tastes in design.  I joined Pinterest and started boards for furniture, lighting, bookshelves which were reviewed.  Homemade design comes to New York periodically to meet with clients not in the Boston area and this gave us a chance to meet and select furniture and upholstery at the New York Design center.  This is an extra charge but well worth it since I was completely overwhelmed.  They were extremely patient and guided me through the process.  At one point I decided to move the television which turned out to be a bad idea -- they explained why it would not worked and I concurred competely after I understood the reasons.  So, they are not afraid to tell you if you going down the wrong road. I live in a New York City townhouse and forget that I do not have a whol lot of space even though my house is huge for NYC. So, I had to be told how to "scale" everything to the space we had to work with, which was helpful
I purchased the service several months ago but was not ready to actually decide on the actual purchases until recently. So, the delay in completion is because of my schedule.  I now hope to finish everything by September.

"I put my old Victorian house on the market this summer, and it sold in two days!. I must give credit to S.L. Contractors and wonderful job they did remodeling my house. I got their name from Angie’s List four years ago. My first project was the painting of all the exterior windows. I have three floors. They even repainted the rusty grills at my basement windows. That wasn’t a big job, because the jobs kept getting bigger. Then I had my old pantry converted into a powder room. He was kind of a design consultant for the remodel job for the kitchen. When discussing the size of the island, he said “No one ever says the island is too big.” He worked with me and was flexible as I selected decorative touches from retail stores and online. My kitchen was a challenge. It had pine wood paneling and the layout didn’t work. Mr. Washington changed the appliance layout. I needed my hallway tiles to match my kitchen floor. Mr. Washington searched and found tiles in Texas that matched perfectly. I had a positive experience with S.L. Contractors."
