They arrived each day at the same time and left roughly the same time each afternoon after cleaning up the areas where they were working. Greg is really pleasant and accommodating and has many years experience. He made the whole job work despite the fact that we developed Covid in the middle of the project. We plan to use him again in the future."

"My job was a small job -- a stairwell and ceiling. I was quoted for a Level 3 prep and was explicit that I expected all of the damage from prior condensation damaging the wall to be repaired. I was assured it would be with compound and sanding. Instead, the painter came on a Saturday, alone, and did what I will politely call a poor job. Many imperfections noted on the wall, uneven coloring on the ceiling, and he even chose to use my own dustpin and brush to clean up, which I found interesting. In addition, he created 2 black spots on a wall with his ladder. With all this, he informed me he was done. He was actually going to leave my job with now new imperfections that didn't exist before his arrival. When I pointed out all of these problems, using my iPhone light to look at the wall, the painter responded that he agreed with me and that it was hard to see as the light wasn't that good. He agreed to come back the next day. He returned early the next day and I have to say did a much better job. He brought his own light. However, I still needed to constantly check in and point out things that he did not think a problem. Those black spots, I had to remind him about. The unevenness of the white ceiling, he simply responded "I don't know, I think it's shadows from the light" which it isn't - it just needed additional coats of paint. And the stairway wall, while better, still has lumps and bumps that I think anyone would agree should have been eliminated with a Level 3 prep. Moreover, he got paint on the bannister and did not protect the bathroom upstairs or close the door, so the bathroom was covered in fine white dust throughout, including my toothbrush. When it comes to their communication, the estimate process, and estimator (Brian), I would rate them a 10 out of 10. However, I hired them because of things they stated -- that I get to live my life without the need to worry about my paint job, while they take care of my paint job, without me needing to constantly monitor how things are going. And that they provide a good product. I honestly cannot rate them higher than a 6 out of 10 because the whole purpose of hiring them -- the paint job -- remains mediocre. I don't understand what the difficulty is, but a small job that turned into a 2 day job is just mediocre."

"The job did not go well. First, JDS Painting was hired and Laffco Painting showed up at our house--this should have been the clue to send everyone away. But, we wanted to trust things would be okay; everything was not okay. The spackle work prior to painting was not done correctly and when this was pointed out, we were told not to be concerned it would be done correctly and would be a smooth finish when complete. We were also told the crew had to hurry and get finished because they had to be somewhere else. We wanted to trust what we were being told and allowed Laffco painters to proceed. To our disappointment, the finished work turned out horrible and not as quoted. Raised areas of spackle were not sanded properly and show through the paint, areas and items in the room were not taped and protected allowing significant drywall dust to settle on newly installed items within the room and drywall dust to settle throughout our house. What little taping was required was ignored causing damage to some items that now have to be replaced. Laffco Painting(Shawn Lafferty) and his crew were more concerned about getting in and out of our home as quickly as possible with little concern of doing the job right. We are now left with a room that shows the multitude of failures in workmanship. We are now in a position to search for another painter who will be willing to take on this project to correct Laffco Painting's poor preparation and painting. We would never recommend Laffco Painting (Shawn Lafferty), his crew or JDS Painting to anyone."
