"These guys were great. Very responsive and work was beautiful. I had new carpet installed, ceiling repair and painted, walls painted, exterior power washed, deck repaired and painted plus a few other odds and ends. I was very happy and will be keeping them on my phone for any further projects."
"I had a pipe burst in the basement of our rental property, Flood Crew was referred by our realtor. They arrived quickly after the pipe was fixed by our plumber, demoed, and dried out the areas, even handled packing out our furniture and placing carefully in a pod storage while the work was being done. They did mold testing and made sure everything was safe, the best part was that they dealt with the insurance and we didn’t have to do anything."
"In March 2011, a rock pad was laid as a foundation for our large garage being delivered. Excellent work performed. As a result of the impressive, professional job done, we had Rock a Fellas redo our deck in July, 2011. A re-decking took place with Timbertech decking materials with radiance rails. This was not an easy job, but Rock was very helpful in offering important advice and opinions on where to select materials etc. He also took care of ordering the dumpster to haul away debris, a detail which can be overlooked by an overwhelmed customer. He also rectified any concerns/issues with a prompt, professional manner which ultimately led to our great satisfaction when job was completed. "

"The sales person was very friendly and took his time to explain exactly what we should expect. He showed us a video of why we were getting water in our basement and the process of installing a sump pump system. I cannot say this for the other sales people at other companies we interviewed. The day of the install the two men were 3 1/2 hours late due to being given the wrong location of our town. Who knew that there were 3 towns in PA with the same name. Once they arrived they were very respectful, polite and ready to do the job. They sectioned off work area with plastic in order to keep the dirt and dust from the rest of the house. They did their job and cleaned up well. They showed us how it would work when they were done. We feel they did a good job at what was needed. We would hire them again if needed. "
"I'm not one to write reviews but i had such a wonderful experience i had to share, I called ETS Environmental Testing Services, they came out to test the floor tile for asbestos. They did a wonderful job. They were very knowledgeable, professional and punctual. I highly recommend them great job thanks again. "
"They did a great job. The basement flooded because the sump pump failed. I've seen them on Angie's List and our insurance company recommended them. They were professional, they did what they said they were going to do, and they did a good job."
"I called Brett Smith the owner of Smitty's Roofing and General Contracting for an estimate to shingle my family's roof and provide vinyl siding. He scheduled a time to come over and give me a free estimate that accommodated my very busy schedule. Within 20 minutes he had everything measured and wrote down to give me an idea of what material and labor would cost me. I reviewed it all and called him back asking when he could get started. Brett told me of his availability which was within a two week time frame. All material was delivered prior to his arrival. Brett estimated 3 days worth of labor to have my roof and siding completed and his timing was dead on. I was beyond pleased with the results."
Challenges include potential asbestos exposure, uneven finishes, or damage to the underlying ceiling if not done correctly.
Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.
Priming a popcorn ceiling before painting is a good idea, especially if the ceiling is stained, discolored, or has never been painted. Interior paint primer helps seal the surface, preventing stains from bleeding through and allowing the paint to adhere better. Use a stain-blocking, water-based primer for best results.
Smooth ceilings create a modern, clean look that helps brighten rooms by reflecting light, making spaces feel more open. They're easy to paint and maintain but can show imperfections. Textured ceilings add character and hide flaws like cracks or uneven drywall. With a range of patterns, you can opt for a subtle texture or something more decorative. The choice between smooth and textured ceilings comes down to your personal style and the look you want for your space.
If your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos, you must hire a professional asbestos removal company to handle the disposal. If your popcorn ceiling does not have asbestos, you can call a popcorn ceiling removal specialist to handle the job. Otherwise, you can hire a drywall or painting professional to handle the job, depending on what you need done.
