"*******BEWARE HAVE EVERYTHING THIS MAN SAYS IN WRITING BEFORE AGREEING TO ANYTHING. Had Flemings come out to mow the grass and clean up flower beds. When I got the quote he said it would probably take 2 hours and 2 guys to take care of the grass and flowerbeds(stated he pays his guys $35 an hour and dependant on how long it takes determines the price) said it would be about $300 . My understanding of the job was cleaning the flowerbeds (weeding and picking leaves up) and mowing the grass. He also stated that if I had him do the grass on a weekly basis it would cost me $75. He came out here today and the yard itself looks great but the only thing he did in the flowerbeds was blow the leaves with a blower up into the woods on the hill right behind the flowerbeds. When I asked him about this he stated no that was just the little bit left over from what he took out of the flowerbeds and dumped in the woods on the far side of the property. They were here for less than an hour and he still expected $300!!!!!! When I asked him why the flowerbeds werent weeded he stated "oh that wasnt part of the deal and if you want that done its going to cost more". RIPOFF. Paid him and as he was leaving he stated "sounds to me like you need to find another landscaper". Will absolutely do that and its not going to be him."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

In addition to aloe vera and lilac, other effective humidity-reducing plants include peace lilies, Boston ferns, English ivy, spider plants, and lucky bamboo. These plants thrive in humid environments and can naturally lower moisture levels. Place them in areas prone to dampness for the best results.

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. Hardscaping—including installing patios, decks, retaining walls, walkways, and water features—is challenging and time-consuming, so the money you spend on a professional is typically worth it. Not only will the quality be better, but you could avoid problems that come along with a lack of hardscaping experience, like drainage issues that can lead to costly foundation damage and leaks in your home.

By definition, gardeners are experts at designing and maintaining outdoor gardens. Their job duties extend far beyond choosing the right plants for the area, which in itself is a job—they also help maintain the health and well-being of the plants. Gardeners work independently or for landscapers, nurseries, or horticulture design companies.

Different landscaping projects call for different types of landscaping rocks. Pea gravel and crushed gravel are often used to cover large areas, while flagstone and cobblestone can be found in patios and walkways. If you’re looking to build a stone wall, fieldstone or small boulders are up to the task, and larger boulders work well to indicate boundaries or fill up empty space.

If you choose to leave gaps between your pavers, you can grow some ground cover plants between them for an organic feel. Look for plants such as creeping thyme, dymondia, jewel mint of Corsica, or clover.
