"Awnings By Paul has been handling the installation, take-down and storage, and maintenance of our deck awning for years. They even replaced our awning for us two years ago. Always easy to work with, dependable, and excellent workmanship. Recently, we had our deck and railings replaced. The existing awning posts would not work with the new railing. So I contacted Paul. We were provided with excellent customer service and installation job. It was less than a week between the time I initially contacted the office and the day the new awning posts were installed. And they handled the request with a professionalism and relaxed manner that made me comfortable. I knew it was a time-sensitive request because the deck installers would be completing their job in about 10 days. But Paul didn't make me feel like I was "imposing" on his time. I was stressed about the awning pole issue when I found out about it initially, but he alleviated my concerns. The posts look great and fit in well with the new deck railing."

"It all started out well after purchase of the initial Angie's list deal.  We promptly agreed on a date and a gentlemen came to measure and start the paperwork. Install date was set for 11/5/15. On 11/4, I was called about setting an install date.  My response was I already had one for the next day. Long story short, the company did not bother to tell me they had cancelled my appointment, they just acted like I never had one.  It was as though one side of the business did not know what the other side was doing. Since I made arrangements to be home on the 5th, I was not happy.  We finally settled on the 12th and the installation went smoothly enough.  However after completion, I noticed the installers had broken a piece of moulding in front of the patio door.  I know they realized they cracked it because they used clear caulk as a fix. I called the company and they said they would replace.  As of 11/30, the moulding still has not been replaced even though I was told the installer was picking up molding on 11/17.
I will say the person who came to measure and the lady who did the follow-up calling were professional. However, I can't say the same for the install side. The contact person was nice enough but he did not contact me to say the install was cancelled and to me it's taking way too long to replace the molding the installers broke.  I view it as a lack of integrity to cover up breaking the piece and not bothering to say anything to me.  The patio door is beautiful and I had planned to purchase a front door from them but have changed my mind.

"I showed her examples of what I desired and I was so satisfied as she did exactly what I asked for. Even though Jennifer became sick during the process and was hospitalized, she down played her illness and was able to complete the job. My dining room window is a bay and she did a terrific job. "I can't praise the workers highly enough. Everything was professionally done. The entire area was cleaned at the end of each day. They made every effort to minimize disruption to my use of the spaces. One day there was a wind storm and a piece of fascia on my neighbor's house came loose and was flapping against the house. The neighbors were out of town. Bob Marburger, the manager on the project was able to pull the fascia down. He did it without any consideration of how he might get paid for his time. In fact, when my neighbor asked him how much he was charging for the fix; Bob told him to forget it. That is an excellent example of the type of person Rick Horn hires. On more than one occasion, they took my garbage to the curb or did other things that helped me out but were unrelated to their project. I have already hired them for another project. Their prices are fair--not the lowest or the highest; but the quality you will get for that fair price is excellent. Rick Horn Construction gets my highest recommendation with no reservation."

"The grout between the kitchen tiles started breaking and cracking fairly quickly in multiple areas. The area between the kitchen and dining room, tile versus wood floor, had a small piece of wood that provided a rounded edge as the kitchen floor was now higher than the dining room. This nails began to come out of this piece of wood and snag sock and foot within a month. The wood coming loose may have contributed to the cracks in the tile's grout. The painter took a month to paint a 1000 square foot home. The faucet was installed improperly. The water valves for the kitchen faucet had the washers forced in to the pipes. I visually confirmed this as the plumber I had hired had to determine why I had lost water on the second and first floor spontaneously. In his opinion someone may have tightened the valves so tightly that the washers were position to eventually come loose and block the flow of water. This was an expensive lesson. Depending on the project AB is fine. Like most contractors he has multiple sites at any given time, taking the more skilled labor to the more important jobs. The end results was low quality work that requires additional expenditures to rectify. That money would have been better spent hiring higher skilled labor."

"the coming out and inspection of area was great and they sent the original quote in an agreeable, if not a little slow, time. however they missed one item of estimate which they corrected. however, when I requested they split the two room I was told they would but they never came at the agreed time. i called several times as i needed for the insurance, the price seemed reasonable and i was going to use, the person denied he agreed to re-quote each room on its own and told me unless i paid i was not receiving any quote. i am actually relieved, u think i dodged a horrible situation. i cannot recommend however it would not be fair to advise against using the company, as i think the paperwork and not the repair work is what they are lacking."

"OK. the agent checked out the dishwasher and determine the electronic mother board was defunct and needed replacement . The cost given made it to get a new machine rather than repair it.

"Finally got the patio enclosure installed. They did a good job in doing this. The only problem I had was getting their scheduling people to call me back to let me know what is what. Their receptionist Julie was extremely helpful to me during the long delay and kept in touch with me but I could not get the same response from the scheduling person named Becky."
