"All I can say they are the best at what they did for me. I hired them to replace sliding glass doors and they ran into some interior problems with the door frame which was rotted and advised me. I was impressed that they removed all old material that was rotted and replaced with all new wood and interior dry wall. Price was fair and I would recommend them for future improvements. Highly recommend Diana Feller"

"The job wasn’t just done right, it was perfect. Chip took his time and did good quality work on a new pocket door in our hallway that we wanted for years. There was an old open swing door that went to our basement in a very narrow hallway and it was a nuisance. The new pocket door looks outstanding. Chip did a full install of the door with new finished drywall and added all new baseboards and casing. I highly recommend Random Remodeling. Posting before and after photos."

"Very pleased with the work AJ had done. I needed my handle on the screen door changed. He not only fixed the handle on the screen Door but also tightened every screw around it. He is professional and keeps up-to-date contact. Great job!!!"

"We received the wrong shower door on the first visit. On the second visit the door was installed but the finish still did not match the faucets but we decided to let it go. The quality, installation and customer service were good, but the ordering process missed the mark. So, we compromised on what we wanted."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Your front door should only need replacing every 20 to 40 years, depending on the material and level of wear and tear. Sometimes a door will need replacing sooner due to extreme weather conditions, like a hurricane or storm. In other cases, you may want to upgrade your door to add some upgraded curb appeal—especially when prepping your home for sale.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

If your specific sliding glass door model is out of stock or no longer being built, it may still be best to contact the original manufacturer or installer. They can suggest a comparable replacement that is similar in size, avoiding more expensive repairs to retrofit a new door to an older opening.

To maintain a door and prevent future issues, regularly clean it, check and lubricate the hinges and locks, inspect the hardware, and check the weatherstripping for signs of wear to prolong its lifespan and functionality.

At the minimum, you want your pet door to fit into its intended location, be the right size for your pup, and have energy-efficient and weatherproofing features. Besides that, you’ll also need features that are unique to your situation. If you live where raccoons run rampant, you should look into doors you can open remotely. If you have small children in your home, you might need a door that only responds to your dog’s collar.
