"I would definitely recommend Mint Contracting to anyone looking to have a patio door replaced. Sean came out to give us an estimate and within 2 weeks our new door was installed. Sean and PJ were friendly, clean and diligent about their work. Our old sliding patio door was removed and they installed a new Pella sliding door. I will keep Mint Contracting in mind when we need a door or windows in the future. They were thorough and cleaned up the site well. The pricing was very reasonable."

"Alan's crew did a wonderful job replacing 18 upstairs windows in my old house. They started and finished on time, were super nice, did terrific work and had GREAT MANNERS - very important! They were very respectful of my things, covering everything in each room as they worked and cleaning everything up afterward. I will use again for any work I need, and would highly recommend!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Rescreening your porch can take a few hours to a whole day, depending on the size of the enclosure and the amount of screen that needs replacing. If you decide to have a professional handle the rescreening, be sure to get a timeline and a cost estimate so you know how long you’ll be without the screened-in space.

To ensure the longevity and smooth functioning of new windows, regular maintenance is essential. This includes cleaning the glass and frames, inspecting seals for leaks or damage, and reapplying caulking as needed. It is also important to lubricate all moving parts and operating mechanisms to ensure they continue to operate smoothly.

While the telltale signs can vary for different types of screen doors, it may be time to learn how to install a screen door if you're noticing rotting, warping, or splintering accompanying the sagging. If you’re unsure whether to replace a sagging screen door, consult a local screen door pro for an inspection and final decision.

Yes, if you have ventilated skylights, you can install insect screens on them. Insect screens for skylights cost $10 to $50 each, depending on their size and quality. Most pros highly recommend insect screens for ventilated skylights because they keep pests outside of your home while allowing fresh air inside.

Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.
