They came out to view the pool, brought samples and we verbally agreed to their quote for work later in the season. Once pool season was over they came in and finished the work in 3 days, not consecutive, a weekend was in the middle, cleaned up and even came back to correct a small blemish we identified on the waterfall section. Overall it was a good experience and I would hire them again."

"We scheduled to have our retaining wall done back in April. Kelly, the owner came out to give us a quote and we scheduled it. He said he had some other Jobs to do before ours but he would fit us in during the month of August and we should reach out to him around the end of July to get a more firm date line of when he would break ground to fix our falling retaining wall. I reached out at the end of July as we discussed and he said due to the rain he didn’t know when he would get to us but it would definitely be in the month of August. I told him that we were selling our house and as long as I could have a firm week that he begin work- that would be enough information to list our home for the new buyers. He gave me the runaround and said due to the rain he would still not be able to make it out and wouldn’t know when he would be able to make it out. I gave him another week and checked the weather, it rained one day but the ground was solid and dry for over a week and still we heard nothing from him. We reached out again in the middle of August, the 14th, And I asked him if he knew which week he might be able to start work, and he tells me I should sell the house as is. Bet your britches I will attach a screenshot of his response. So unprofessional, he wasted my time for months and because I had him scheduled of course I did not schedule another company to do the work I needed done! He was rude and short and uninformative. I tried to be nice and civil, even extra friendly to let him know I was flexible and I asked him if he knew which week he might be able to start work, and he tells me I should sell the house as is. Bet your britches I will attach a screenshot of his response if I could!! So unprofessional, he wasted my time for months and because I had him scheduled of course I did not schedule another company to do the work I needed done! He was rude and short and uninformative. I tried to be nice and civil, even extra friendly to let him know I was flexible But still he was evasive and gave us no answers. Algae-related green hot tub water is generally safe to use, as algae aren't usually harmful to your health. However, if the conditions in the hot tub are hospitable to algae growth, they may also be hospitable to the growth of other types of microorganisms, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bacteria that can cause hot tub rash, or Legionella bacteria, which can cause respiratory illness.

How often you change the water in your swim spa depends on how often you use it. Most manufacturers recommend changing the water every three to six months. If you use your swim spa throughout the seasons, it’s a good idea to set up a quarterly deep cleaning schedule. The ideal instructions should be in the owner’s manual.

To refill a hot tub after winter, start by opening up the tub and giving it a quick cleaning. If you use antifreeze, drain out the water then grab a hose and thoroughly clean the tub shell out, spraying water into each jet of the tub. 

Reconnect the hot tub and turn the power back on. When it’s time to fill the tub again, insert the hose into the filter well (if available). Avoid trapping too much air in the water lines, which can cause the pump to lock up when it starts again. Add the necessary chemicals and start the heating process. It will take some time—most of a full day—for the water to heat up again.

Hot tub heaters typically last seven to 10 years, though some might only last five years if not properly maintained. You can maximize your hot tub heater’s lifespan by ensuring the water’s pH level is properly balanced.

Follow these general safety tips for spas and hot tubs:

  • Keep your exterior electrical receptacles covered and dry, especially around your hot tub and pool during periods of use.

  • Make sure you have a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) properly installed to ensure no one gets accidentally shocked or injured by electrocution. 

  • Don’t use the hot tub or your pool during a thunderstorm. 

  • Before using the hot tub, have a certified electrician thoroughly inspect your hot tub and its wiring to make sure you’re in full compliance with all applicable local building codes.
