"HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY!!! The owner of the company, Aaron Richter, took $7800 of deposit money for the project and never showed up to do the job. We signed a contract with this company in March of 2021 for building retaining wall and installing french drainage around our property, as well as grading the ground and pulling shrubs from the flowerbed. The deposit check was cashed on April 1st, 2021. The job was to be started when the ground was dry enough (May or June 2021). Nothing happened then. All summer of 2021 we kept calling and texting, wishing to know why the delay, but he ignored our messages. When he would finally respond, the answer was "in 7-10 days". Same story in the fall of the same year: ignoring messages and calls, and when responding after days and weeks, the same answer was given: 7-10days. When end of November and first snowfall came, we asked him to give us our money back. He ignored that call as well, and we took him to court. The ruling was in our favor, he was ordered to pay the money back, which he never did. In March of 2022, he agreed to at least install the drainage and remove the shrubs for the money he already took from us. Spring, summer and fall of 2022 came and past, but, again, he never showed up. He brought bobcat excavator, parked it on our property for 77 days in fall of 2022, and the bobcat then was moved away. Stay away from this business! Save your money and avoid frustrations! He never gave us any explanation as to why the job was not done. He stated that he had bought the wall blocks with our deposit money, but when I repeatedly asked to come and get the blocks from him and take it to my property, he ignored those calls as well. This company does not deserve even one star. And there is nobody to protect you from business and people like this. STAY AWAY!!!!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, and they do it exceptionally well. Heated roof cables have two purposes: melting snow and preventing ice buildup. Ice damming happens when ice forms on the roof (usually where the roof meets the gutter) and melts stubbornly slowly, causing moisture to enter the roof itself and, therefore, the home.

If you’re looking at how to remove snow from solar panels, heat from the sun usually melts the snow within a few days. However, snow removal might be necessary for winter solar power production in areas with deep snow during the winter. There are brushes with telescoping handles and gentle heads to brush away snow. It’s best to stay on the ground if possible and avoid using tools that could scratch the surface of the solar panels, like a snow shovel or broom.

If you do end up with frozen gutters, it's important to thaw them correctly. Thawing your gutters slowly is far safer than trying to break apart the ice. Once you get through the ice, bring in a gutter professional to check out the effectiveness of your heated system.

Yes—in fact, it’s an important step in how to start a snow blower. Allowing the engine to idle for a few minutes prior to using a snow blower helps it reach its optimal operating temperature, which gets the fuel running properly, improves its performance, and helps prevent stalling during frigid weather.

How much snow can a roof hold? The answer could help you to avoid roof collapse—a worst-case scenario, of course. For most roofs, you can expect it to withstand four feet of fresh snow, two feet of packed snow, or two to three feet of a mix of old and new snow. However, your roof will only be able to handle one inch of ice. The actual weight capacity of your roof may vary, so check with whoever built it for exact details.
