The repair lasted for 17 days and then they refused to come out and fix the problem on a system they had installed that would have still been under warranty if I was the original owner. I told them I wasn't going to pay so the charged an old credit card on file. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!"

Good news: Your AC system doesn’t need Freon (a popular refrigerant) added regularly, if ever. Freon only needs to be added when there’s a refrigerant leak; however, it’s not uncommon for a gradual leak to occur every 5 to 15 years. If your central AC is not blowing cold air, you should try resetting the system. Many systems have a reset button. Make sure your thermostat is off, then turn off the circuit breaker that powers your AC. Hold the reset button for three to five seconds, then turn the circuit back on. Set your thermostat to cool and choose a temperature cooler than the room. Your system should turn on quickly.

There are two main reasons your furnace and AC are turning on at the same time. The first could be that you’re confusing the furnace with the blower. The blower is located in the furnace and will turn on to distribute cool air from the air conditioner through the ductwork in the home. This is normal. If the actual furnace is turning on at the same time as the AC and hot and cool air are coming into the home, it could be a result of incorrect writing to a new thermostat or new systems.

It depends on the size of the space you’re cooling down. If you’re looking for the most affordable way to cool an entire house over a long period of time, then central air will be more cost-effective. But when it comes to cooling down a couple of rooms or one floor, a window unit may be the cheaper option, with both a lower cost to install and less energy used to run.
