"This company is very easy to work with. They are super fast and did excellent work. They cleaned up all the trees and itâ s like there were never any trees in those spots. Very nice people. Would hire them again and probably will in the near future."

"Exceptional service! Administration, Supervisor/Estimator and Arborists are all extremely knowledgeable and responsive. Each of the 5-man onsite crew (3 climbers, 2 ground) is skilled and professional but together they formed a spectacular team. They coordinated cutting/removing trees that were entwined with electrical and communications cables in a confined space with breathtaking efficiency. The work was started on-time, property was protected and effective clean-up was integrated into the process. Unfortunately, these trees needed to be removed due to safety concerns but would also call them for other services. I believe that this experienced company excels in everything they do and I highly recommend Arbor Care!"

"I requested a quote for tree trimming in Angi. Culpepper and Sons came up and they had great reviews. Chris called me to schedule a time for a quote within 15 mins of hitting the submit button. He did everything he said he was going to do through the entire process and I am happy with the results. The crew also took the time to educate me on the process. I highly recommend."

"An extremely hard working and friendly tree company. We were very impressed by the work done and how beautiful they left out grounds, it doesn’t look like anything was ever planted there! They arrived early and worked until the job was finished. We recommend them to everyone and will continue using in the future!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

Tree borers are difficult to control and remove once they make a home in your tree. However, with patience and determination, some methods can slow the damage or even eliminate the pests. But, once the damage is too much for the tree to handle, the only solution becomes removing it. Talk to a tree specialist early for the best chance at saving your tree.

A pro can guide you on the alternatives to tree topping depending on the specific issues within your trees. For example, if you’re dealing with breakage and cracks in your tree, they may suggest canopy reduction, which removes less than 25% of the tree’s limbs. If you’re dealing with lesser damage, some intentional pruning may be all you need. If you’re looking to get a clearer view through your tree, the pro may also try windowing or skirting your tree.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.
