"I hired this firm for drywalling. The fast turnaround on the work was impressive, but even more impressive - and appreciated - was that they did the painting job I had to go with it!"

"We are finishing our basement. We put up framing, insulation and paneling only to discover we had a condensation problem. We contacted a locally well known water damage and restoration company. After waiting two weeks, they called to tell us they were not interested in working with us. During these few weeks, we tore down the paneling and insulation.  We contacted Superior Insulation after noticing their great reviews here on Angie's List. We talked to Rick who gave us an idea of what the solution was and set up an appointment to view the problem area. Once he saw the problem area, he decided on a slightly different solution. Contract signed 3/18/15. Work completed  by Rick and Jim 3/30/15. They were very professional, thorough and nice to deal with. We are very happy with what they did.

"Nate and Junior did a wonderful job and charged a fair price.. They installed three sheets of drywall and repaired existing drywall in a small powder room. The work was performed quickly with virtually no dust or extra joint compound created when finishing the joints. It took awhile to get the work scheduled mostly due to Covid-19 but it was well work the wait. I would recommend this firm for drywall installation/repair."

Small jobs welcome

"Tobias and his crew were very professional, courteous and helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. The job took close to three days, including painting with our selected color. Tobias worked with our schedules and expectations of time frame to complete. We wanted to hide/cover the water faucets and electric outlets. Tobias worked with us on suggestions and the outcome was perfect. We were very please from the first phone and email conversations to the completion and payment. We will definitely reach out to Tobias for future projects."

"Carlos is now our 'go to' drywall guy! He has a great attitude (our kids were even in his way at times), great price, and very punctual. His communication is speedy - as well as his drywall finishing. Although, he makes sure he does the job right and well. He told us he would come back and fix any issues that came up after we primed the walls. That wasn't an issue, but he will be coming back to finish the rest of our drywall projects, once they are ready!"

"They were honest. They came on time and their prices were reasonable. They went out of their way to help me and were so accommodating. They vacuumed and cleaned up and used foot protection to keep our house clean."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.

It doesn’t matter which way you lay drywall, and you can choose to install it horizontally or vertically depending on the size of the wall and how tall the ceiling is. It’s easier to lay drywall sheets vertically if you have a taller ceiling, but laying sheets horizontally makes it easier to apply joint compound.

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.

It’s not a good idea to plaster over broken plaster (unless by broken you’re referring to cracked, in which case that’s perfectly fine). However, broken plaster can be a sign of a larger underlying issue like foundation damage or severe damage to the lath holding up the plaster, so it’s worth investigating before you simply plaster on top of the damage.
