In 2005, Brian J. Owens founded a small excavating company. First contracting with local Clearfield builders, the company has grown over the years and expanded. We are currently serving central Pennsylvania in Centre, Clearfield, Jefferson, Blair, and Huntington Counties. We offer a wide range of excavating services including, demolitions, snow control, septic services, and much more.

"Wonderfully done work from very stand up guys. The crew is personable and works quickly. Everything that was needed was done and comes at a good cost. We are very happy with the results and would recommend anyone needing any excavation work to go with Brian. All piping looks great, and they did a lot of work in the time that they were here."

"Joseph Bardi is very rude, speaks over you, receptionist Michelle also spoke over me, they placed me on speaker violating my privacy without proper consent. Joseph Bardi spoke over me countless times and raise his voice at me. They no call no show on first scheduled appt. claimed to have partial phone number but never called PA American water to get the proper info. Cody tech came out 5 minutes says we only cover blockages. And took my $50 copay. Did nothing. I cut pipe open and there was a rock constricting 3/4 of the drain hole. After Joe hung up on my when I expressed his poor customer service and attitude, they neglected to answer next call. Kate was also rude over speaking me cutting me off a speed talking while trying to document notes. I do not recommend this company. I fear they treat people poorly and take advantage of the average home owner. I have been doing customer service for 21 years I never experience this kind of treatment or violation of privacy or disrespect. Nor would I service my clients this way. He also deleted his yelp after our call. I’m a 39 year old man single home owner no matter what the issue clients deserve respect. I wouldn’t trust this person in my home with the level of treatment they provided. When I expressed if they hung up on my again or continue to speak over me I would travel in person to speak professionally, they used the “harassment card” ."

"Couldn’t find my septic lid, claimed it was inaccessible. Charged $150 for trip fee alone, when they came out here AFTER we called AND emailed them to reschedule. They showed up anyway, woke me up and didn’t even do any work. My husbands mother died and he was at her funeral that day so it was just me and the workers. They showed up and were extremely rude and ignorant. They said we had to remove our deck stairs to get to the septic lid - and they left, claiming it was inaccessible. My husband comes home from his mom’s funeral and the septic lid is RIGHT NEXT TO THE STAIRS we “had to remove.” Do not trust these people! Picture of stairs we “needed” removed, and picture of septic lid TO THE RIGHT OF THE STAIRS. IT WAS ACCESSIBLE THE WHOLE TIME. No stair removal ever needed. The workers did not once lift lid or even notice it despite walking around the property. This company is a joke if I ever heard one. STAY AWAY FROM ADVANCED SEPTIC SERVICES"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, it’s best not to leave baking soda and vinegar in the drain overnight. While using baking soda and vinegar can be helpful to clear out hair and debris in your bathtub drain, this mixture might start to corrode your drainpipes due to its caustic nature if left in the drain too long or used too often.

Most blockages can be cleared in 1-3 hours, but severe issues may take longer.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.
