"It went great. I spoke to Ed yesterday and verbally agreed on a price of $200. He removed old wood when I wasn't home and trusted me to send him a check. His schedule got slightly delayed and he kept me informed by voicemail and texts. A day after verbally agreeing to to remove the wood, job was done. I only wish all contractors were like him."

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench.
