"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."

They came in, diagnosed the problem, fixed the problem, and explained what work was done and what to do if it happened again to avoid another service call. "I had him do several small jobs and one bigger job. The small jobs were hanging ring towel holders in two bathrooms, hang a smoke/c.o. detector, replace a piece of siding outside. The big job was installing a new disposal. A couple days later my dishwasher wasn’t working so I called a company to come fix it. But after giving it some thought I decided maybe it had something to do with the new disposal. And sure enough, it did. So I had to cancel the repair people and called Handyman Helper back. And they realized the problem immediately and sent the guy back on Monday morning to fix it. He said he hadn’t done one in a long time so he mistakenly left off a major thing to connect to the water outlet from the dishwasher. It was an honest mistake and I was extremely pleased that it was taken care of so quickly. It just caused a minor inconvenience with the dishwasher because I had to get out the water standing on the bottom that couldn’t drain out before it was fixed."
