"We got an estimate and made a verbal agreement to get some concrete work done to widen our driveway. He told us it would take three days at the most, but he still isn't finished 20 days later. He left a mess and did damage to surrounding areas through his careless workmanship. He did a horrible looking job and the concrete he installed was not properly finished and slopes toward the driveway rather than away from it.. I honestly don't think he's ever done concrete work before. He is no longer responding to my text messages with the usual phony promise to be here "tomorrow" to finish up. In addition, he went over the estimate by well over a thousand dollars because he told us that the estimate didn't include the price of the concrete and we would have to pay for that separately."

We have three full time employees and we use 2-3 subcontractors from time to time (for roofing and basement waterproofing). None of these subcontractors however are handed off the job. They work in conjunction side by side with Lake Effect owner/operators. We have many payment options including PayPal and accept all major credit cards. We normally would like 50% down a day or two before we start or the day of and the other 505 upon completion. We are running an indoor work promo for any work scheduled inside before 12-31-15. That is a 10% off offer. We also have discounts for senior citizens and veterans (7%). Only one discount can be applied per job.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. This may help the stump decay faster, allowing homeowners to dig it out themselves, but it’s still a lengthy process. It usually takes months for a stump to start falling apart with such treatments, and in the meantime, it can be vulnerable to rot, insects, and other problems.

It can take several weeks for the ground to settle after removing a tree, and the soil under larger, more mature trees can take months. The deeper the tree has been ground under the soil, the longer it will take to settle. However, this extra depth can help you plant new landscaping sooner because you’ll have more space for fresh soil.

Probably the most cost-efficient way to remove a tree stump is to use Epsom salts, which help accelerate the rotting process making it easier to remove by hand once nature has taken its course. Burning a tree stump doesn’t tend to cost much either, but is a riskier DIY method.
