"We have an old carpet which had never been cleaned. It had pet stains. He explained that it may not be possible to get the stains out because there were old stains. He pre-treated & steamed as best he could. Worked pretty well. Gave us booties to wear over shoes while carpet was wet. We also bought his carpet stain cleaner to use for new stains. (We have a cat & an old dog with kidney issues.) Once carpet dried we could see some of stains wick up which can happen. We have solid beige color carpet. But it still looks a lot better than it did! Jim was courteous & professional. He fit us in his schedule the day after I contacted him because he had a to re-schedule a customer. Otherwise he was booked all the following week. He doesn't accept credit cards but that's okay with us."

It’s not necessary to tip an upholstery cleaner, and it’s usually not expected by the professionals in the industry. However, tipping between 10% and 20% of your total cleaning cost is a nice gesture and a good way to show your appreciation. You might consider tipping if the cleaner gets a particularly stubborn stain out without damaging the material, or if they go above and beyond to clean an antique piece of furniture using special methods to keep your furniture safe from damage.
