"Rob did an excellent job. I was very happy with his work. He came out to my house to show me different carpet styles and gave me an estimate within a few minutes. He walked me through the process and explained how he would install the new carpet. He recommended that I remove the old carpet and clean the surface myself first to save some money, which I appreciated. He kept me up to date as far as when the carpet would be in and trying to schedule a day with good weather. It was a rainy week, but the first sunny day he let me know he could come by later that day and got the job done within an hour or two. The new carpet looks great on my porch and definitely brought new life to it. I can't wait to sit outside and enjoy the weather!"

"I recently used national rug cleaner's for carpet cleaning, and I couldnâ t be more satisfied with their service. From start to finish, their team was professional, friendly, and thorough. They arrived on time, assessed the condition of my carpets, and explained the process clearly. The results were outstandingâ stubborn stains that I thought would never come out disappeared completely, and my carpets now look and feel brand new. I also appreciated their use of eco-friendly products, which left my home smelling fresh without harsh chemical odors. Small jobs welcome

"They also brought in electicians and plumbers to do work that was done very well...All were personable and respectful. The work was exceptional and they cleaned up after every days work. Even when something gave issue they took care of it asap and repaired or cleaned up afterward. When they demo'd they found some very big issues (to us) and they worked with us to do the work right. We wanted more cabinetry and the old cabinets sanded and painted. They built new cabinetry and matched the old perfectly . as in photos that may have been posted ...My kitchen is my dream kitchen. They also did both bathrooms and wow what beautiful rooms they are now.."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

DIY installation is challenging; professionals ensure proper fitting, adhesive application, and long-term durability.

When choosing whether to install carpet in your home, consider the pros and cons of this change:

Pros

  • More affordable than laminate flooring

  • Gives the room a warmer feel

  • Softer on feet

  • Wide variety of textures and colors

  • Hides dirt easily

  • Faster and easier to install

Cons

  • Shows wear and tear more quickly than laminate flooring

  • Shows stains

  • Soaks up liquids

  • May not work well in some areas, such as a bathroom

  • Less durable than laminate flooring

  • Susceptible to water damage, mold, and mildew

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.
