"I have used Pro Express Moving three times in the last three years, and they have done an excellent job with every move. I'm constantly impressed with their speed of packing, handling of heavy items, and thoroughness in unpacking. They are professional and reliable, which is everything you want in a moving company."

"Alll My Sons Moving was A+ from start to finish. The "support" folks were courteous, friendly and thorough in ensuring they had all the information needed to make "moving day" a success. The 2 movers, however, were definitely the stars!!! They arrived on time, reviewed everything to be moved to 2 different locations then went to work loading their truck. Everything was moved to the first location and set up as needed. Delivery to the second location was more challenging because of the topography, but these great guys proceeded move everything here with an excellent positive attitude."

"Couldn?t have asked for a better experience! Hired Goodview Moving and Storage crew to help move some furniture. It wasn?t a full move ? just a few heavy items ? but they treated it seriously and didn?t rush. They even called to confirm a few details before heading out. Loved how the experience turned out!"

"They send me 4 guys who worked with me. The whole moving crew were great. They were not only fair, in all respects, but willing to accommodate those extras that occur, in such a move. This was the best moving experience in all the expects. I had a great move with them."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is cheaper to move yourself than to hire professional movers. The average DIY move costs $120 to $2,300, while professionals cost $890 to $2,570 on average or up to $12,000 for the longest distances. While you’ll save on the cost of professional labor with a DIY move, you’ll spend more time and energy packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking.

No, it is vital to transport a motorcycle upright because of its battery. These batteries are typically not sealed to avoid overpressurization, so the motorcycle could leak battery acid if it lays on its side. Plus, laying it on its side for a long period of time may cause hydrolock, which is when oil leaks into the combustion chamber, making your spark plug unable to ignite the gas due to lack of air.

Moving a house is a complex and labor-intensive process, which is why it can get so pricey, particularly if it’s a large home. In some cases, the house may need to be dismantled, moved in sections, and then reassembled at the new location, which can add significantly to the cost of the move. However, it’s typically less costly than building a new home.

If you are hiring professional movers, their company will handle any permits and similar arrangements. But if you are renting a truck to move yourself, you may have to pay permits when moving across state lines or away from a specific city or town. Research your move and its requirements as you plan. Most states, cities, and even rental companies offer useful information about what permits you may need.

You can calculate the cost of moving by evaluating your home size, the weight of your belongings, distance, and the method of moving. You’ll also want to account for moving company fees, cost of supplies, gas prices, storage fees, insurance, and more. To get the most accurate estimate for your upcoming move, get price quotes from several moving companies in your area.
