I got the impression that his experience as an electrician helped him quickly figure out that the problem was related to how the outlet had been connected to the gfci outlet in the 2nd floor bathroom and changes to that outlet when the 2nd floor bathroom was renovated a couple months before. While they mentioned having done similar installations before, they spent quite a bit of time reviewing instructions on site, which added to the time and cost. The final bill was over $800 for a couple switches, including a service fee and $10 for wire connector? (The switches come with connector) Just a heads-up to others: be sure to ask detailed questions about hourly charges and how time will be managed, especially for smart device installations."
