"Mike and his crew were awesome. I can’t say enough about them. I had to wait awhile for the job to be done due to the rainy weather, but it was so worth the wait. I had some concrete removed and my driveway extended with asphalt. Also had curbing installed to retain my neighbor’s driveway (I live in a row home). Mike and his crew were totally professional and have a great work ethic. Again, I can’t say enough about them. I will definitely have them back for another project in the near future. I highly recommend TMC Concrete and Paving."
"I would highly recommend Ben's pavement. Company responded to my internet inquiry immediately and actually came to house to provide and estimate same day. Contractor set up firm date for paving. Paving exceeded the 2 inch quote. In certain areas more repair and pavement was required yet contractor did not charge extra. Ben's also recommended Dan Hanson Construction for pavers in and around the new driveway. The two firm worked extremely well together. "

"Great job! This is the second time we contracted with Jean, The Driveway Lady and we are totally happy with the completed job. Her service is fast, very reasonable, and of high quality. She was flexible in scheduling to accommodate us. We will definitely use her service again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality driveway service."
"Richard contacted me quickly and was at my house for a free estimate that same day. He started and completed my driveway re-pave a few days later with excellent results. Highly recommended!"
"Fantastic work by John and his crew! We hired Plymouth Nursery and Landscape Co. after seeking out multiple companies for our property needs. John's extensive knowledge, expertise and overall passion for plants made me feel like we were in very good hands. The entire process was thorough and yet allowed for additional improvising depending on our needs. Lots of credit to the crew, who worked in challenging weather conditions and handled the stone work, landscaping, lighting and irrigation systems with patience and skill. I appreciated having a detailed layout of our plans so we had a clear understanding of the project and all the materials/plants being used. I was able to give John a vision and he brought everything to life in a way I could have never imagined. I will admit that this project was quite expensive and we also added on to our initial bill. It was an expense that will further add to making our house our home--one that I am very proud of when I pull up my driveway. Thank you very much to John and his crew for the exceptional work! I'm confident we'll continue to use your services for years to come."
"This small job went extremely well. We were very pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail the workmen, Steve and Miguel, gave to our small project. Tim Mager was so accommodating to squeeze in this project into his busy schedule. We can't thank Cambridge Landscapes enough for coming out to do this job. The fact that they would do a small job like ours just shows their level of commitment to homeowners who want to make their property look good!"
"Absolutely beautiful work. The only snag was that there were delays to the schedule at each step. I believed each explanation, I think between employee shortages, supply chain problems and COVID closings this year was really hard on schedules. I would call these guys again for paving or cement work. They left our yard better than they found it."
While water-related pressure caused by poor drainage is one common cause of paver cracking, other factors can include ground movement beneath pavers, heavy loads and wear and tear over the pavers, and climates with constant freeze-thaw cycles. In general, pavers should be resealed every three to five years to prevent cracking.
Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.
If you're designing a new patio in an area with poor drainage, permeable pavers made from porous materials may help prevent water issues. Most permeable pavers feature a gravel-only aggregate base instead of a concrete base to allow water to flow through instead of getting trapped. While beneficial in some cases, permeable pavers come with higher initial costs and greater load-bearing limitations compared to traditional pavers.
Asphalt dries and cures best between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This range allows moisture to evaporate quickly without causing the asphalt to cool too fast, which can negatively affect the drying process. However, keep in mind that other weather conditions can also affect curing and drying times, such as precipitation and humidity.
The recommended minimum amount for a paver base is 4 inches. From there, it depends on the kind of traffic the pavers will see and the current soil conditions. Two inches of paver base won’t create the amount of stability and support that pavers need to remain securely in place over time.
