Everyone knows that people in our category are on fixed incomes. I was charged 395 for 15 minutes to replace 2 short facia sections. The price is predatory in my estimation. So seniors beware. I agreed to the price because I couldn't find anyone else and the job needed to be done for safety reasons. This is not an excuse to take advantage of the elderly."

Unfortunately, a freon leak will persist even when your AC unit is off. The freon in the AC unit is under pressure no matter the status of the system, so it will continue to drip through the leak even when you shut off the entire unit. It will continue to leak freon until it’s completely empty.

Don’t run your AC with a wet filter. It can cause your AC to work too hard, which will run up your utility bill and cause extra wear and tear on the system. You could also spread moisture and mold throughout your house. Turn off the AC, remove the wet filter, and check for cracks or clogs. Get on your HVAC technician’s schedule in early spring so your unit is ready to go for the season. If you’re doing two inspections per year, aim for one in the spring and one in the fall. You should also service your furnace once per year in the fall.
