"Thank you Rich and John from bakers waterproofing. They did an excellent job and were very polite. I have had a lot of work done on my newly purchased home and no company was as professional as these guys. Thanks for fixing the leaky gutter that another company had done and I could not get them to come back and fix this problem. Thanks!"

"Tim and a helper did a great job on our project leveling multiple areas where our concrete had settled. They even power-washed our driveway. Tim provided good communication throughout the project and provided a fair price. I recommend Big Bear Concrete Leveling."

"We were very happy to find A Plus Concrete & Foundation repair. They did a tremendous job!! Joe & his team came to our house last month to repair old crumbling foundation blocks. The team was fantastic! The old broken blocks in our foundation were repaired quickly and efficiently. Thank you! The team power washed the side patio above our garage per Gary, the owner's, suggestion. We're grateful Gary suggested removing the old rubber coating on the cement. We ended up finding numerous hairline cracks that were causing water to leak into the basement. After finding the source of the problem, Gabe and Dan returned two weeks later to seal the cracks and paint the patio above the garage with a fresh coat of paint. They were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and hard working. The patio looks amazing and is now leak free. Thank you! I will be recommending your company to my family and friends."

"These guys are not only pros—they are true gutter artisans. After a decidedly frustrating experience with previous roofers, who were at best sloppy but in any case showed no pride in work, working with Ryan Hankey and Always Perfect Contracting has been a breath of fresh air. The work was a challenging replacement of a decayed and rotting box gutter on a circa 1850s historic home on a steep hillside with 36 stairs. There was no way to save the box gutter. Ryan and his team of Jeff and Dino worked long days in high heat and humidity to get the job done in two days. Not only did they replace the gutter, they remediated some of the sloppiness perpetrated by previous roofers at no extra cost. I got three bids on this project, and although Always Perfect Contracting was not the cheapest, the level of craftsmanship more than warranted the price differential. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough—7 stars (out of 5)."

"HBF were excellent. They replaced my deteriorating front walk with a MUCH nicer sidewalk and they poured an excellent foundation for me to build a shed on. I'll definitely reach out to them for any future concrete work."

"My yard was very overgrown with large shrubs, low tree branches and tall weeds. Eric came out and looked at my yard, outlined what could be done, and gave me a very reasonable estimate of cost and time needed to take care of things, with no hard sell or scare tactics. He and his crew came out on several trips and cleared away all the debris, trimmed dozens of branches, and removed a dead tree that had fallen after high winds. He also found another dead tree in danger of damaging wires and removed it. He even talked with my neighbor about the temporary inconvenience of blocking the driveway while removing all the debris. My yard looks great! I am extremely happy with the work he did and hope to have him back in the spring to till up my garden and do some concrete patching. I would definitely recommend him for large and small landscaping projects and will continue to use his company in the future."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Mudjacking is usually reserved for light-duty slabs, like patios, driveways, and sidewalks. However, it can be an effective way to lift garage slabs and concrete around the perimeter of the home, which could harm your foundation if it’s not done properly. The risk of damage is why having a professional mudjacking company carry out the work is important. This type of slab or foundation repair is relatively inexpensive, especially if you consider that a DIY job requires that you pay to rent the necessary equipment.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.
