"Joe from Peters Pest Control texted me and came a little earlier than scheduled. He was very polite, professional, and explained everything. I had two (2) separate in ground yellow jacket nests in my yard. He sprayed and dusted both nest areas, and within a few days, I expect all the bees to be finished. The company also guarantees their work. Thank you Joe."

"Went great! Signed up for initial treatment of household pests. Serviceman Dedric came out on schedule, calling beforehand to be sure I was home and to let me know he was on the way. First treatment gave AMAZING results. Before the next scheduled service date a month or so later, Dedric called to see how things were going and if I needed any interim supplies, stopping by the next day to deliver them. He just came for the one-month follow-up and treated a few more areas, though we aren't having much of an issue anymore. We are to just let him know anytime we need him to return. He is easy to get ahold of, easy to reschedule with, and VERY EXPERIENCED in this field! He knew exactly where to treat before I even had to say it. Will definitely recommend this company and service provider to anyone in need!

"Very friendly tech came to examine our house. He was really late, but this did not matter - lost his way. The cost was way beyond what we are willing to pay for pest control (over $1000) but we do have a fairly problematic carpenter bee problem."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Birds are often averse to certain strong scents. For instance, the odor of predator urine, such as that from foxes or hawks, can deter them. Similarly, birds may dislike the pungent aromas of garlic, onions, and chili peppers. Essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, and citrus can also be effective in keeping birds away. However, it's important to note that individual bird species might react differently to these scents, so it might require some experimentation to find the most effective repellent for your specific situation.

The best way to get rid of fruit flies usually involves a cleaning and checking to make sure food sources are sealed away. However, if you have a major infestation, you can try making a fruit fly trap, or calling a bug control service near you, to address the problem.

Across most of the United States, the fall season sees rats at their prime activity levels. As temperatures drop, rats become more active, spurred by the weather shift to seek shelter as winter approaches. During this time, their curiosity and energy peak, driving them to explore what your home and its surroundings might offer.

Yellow jackets are a type of wasp in the Vespula and Dolichovespula genera. Hornets are another type of wasp in the Vespa genus. Hornets and yellow jackets are closely related and are both known for being large and aggressive. They are often confused with one another, too. For example, the bald-faced hornet is actually a yellow jacket, and the European hornet, a true hornet, looks much like a yellow jacket.

Consumer-brand foggers or bug bombs are considered safe overall. Still, it's essential to read the instructions carefully as the vacating time varies depending on the type of bug bomb you use. Most of the time, it's advised that all humans and pets are out of the area for at least two to four hours after initiating the fogger process. It's also a good idea to vent the space by cracking open some windows for several hours after you're back inside.
