The first thing is to consider the main color of your home and determine which colors will complement it. You should place paint samples on your siding and look at them at different times of the day so you can see the way the sun (and shade) affect how they appear. The biggest issue with painting your interior walls with exterior paint isn’t the way the paint looks or performs—it’s the lack of ventilation. The higher quantities of VOCs in exterior paint will have a harder time dispersing in an enclosed space, so do everything you can to direct them out—like turning on a fan and opening your windows and doors. Afterward, you can simply prime and redo your walls with interior paint, and no one will know the difference.

The disadvantages of whitewash paint can start when mixing the paint. Too much water can cause chipping and peeling later because the substrate did not fully absorb the solution. It's also difficult to control the consistency of the paint, resulting in an uneven finish. Remember, achieving desired results with whitewash demands skill and patience, as improper techniques can result in streaks, uneven coverage, or premature flaking, adding complexity to the process.

Paint sprayers come with a few disadvantages, with the most notable being the up-front cost. You’ll spend a few hundred dollars on a paint sprayer in most cases, while a roller and brushes will typically cost under $40. Sprayers also require more preparation to cover the areas you don’t want to paint, and they require more technique to get your paint applied without drips or bubbles from applying too much paint at once.

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.
