"Project was to design and install a closet system for a large reach in closet. Estimator arrived on time, helped to design the closet and provided all the needed information. Installer was excellent and the closet looks beautiful. We are very pleased with all the services. David"

Small jobs welcome

"A previous owner had added an enclosed space attached to our second-floor bedroom that was just used for storage. Jeff designed and implemented a redesign for this space to become a walk-in closet. He lined the walls with cedar panels, modified one existing set of shelves, and installed a hanger rod with shelf above, a new shelving unit, a new dresser built into the available space, and new curtain hardware. The space is both attractive and very useful. He has also done some smaller projects for us, including installation of a new set of shelves and drawer under an existing kitchen counter and new hardware in a bathroom. Jeff is creative, skilled, and delightful to work with. I recommend him highly!"

"The father/son duo were professional and courteous. Immediately went to work and efficiently replaced our banister including a recommendation to build out the wall for better stability. Will definitely consider for future projects."

Closets questions, answered by experts

You can modernize an old-looking closet by just painting it, but beyond that, consider electric elements like recessed or accent lighting. If this is a large and deep closet, you can consider adding an island to the middle or a nice ottoman on a rug. Luxury closets will have even more items, like felt-lined drawers for watches and jewelry, in-wall safes, electronic shoe storage, or a tablet catalog of their items.

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to help optimize and maximize space, functionality, and usage. It is recommended to confirm the availability of this service with your specific installer or contractor.
