We are a full-service installation company in the home improvement industry, and have been for over 65 years! The services we specialize in replacing: Roofing, Siding, Decks, Patios, Windows, Doors, Bathtubs/Showers, Cabinets and more. We even provide a free no-obligation estimate that will be good for 12 months, so that you have all of the information you need to know about your project.

"I'd like to share my disappointment and frustration with the recent bathroom remodeling project that Install America completed for me. The project was signed on October 29, 2022, started on January 12, 2023 and was supposed to be completed within 1-2 weeks. However, the project did not finish until March 27, 2023, taking over 2.5 months instead of the promised timeline. This significant delay caused me a great deal of inconvenience as it disrupted all my life plans. Additionally, living on the construction site for 2.5 months was unhealthy and stressful, which exhausted my nerves. Furthermore, I was disappointed with the lack of from the assigned project manager. The project manager never called back to provide updates on the project's progress, which left me in the dark about the timeline for completion. To make matters worse, after agreeing on the cost of the project, the salesperson added an additional $10K, referring to the fact that something was forgotten. This is unprofessional and unfair. Quality and quantity of work performed does not match the cost of the project, and I feel that I am being overcharged for services that were not adequately provided and while I have attempted to address my concerns with management, I have been met with resistance and have not received an itemized bill that justifies the charges. In response to these inconveniences, Install America graciously installed two additional niches (that were already in the contract), which is not adequate compensation for the stress and inconvenience caused. The $500 compensation was also insufficient. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Install America. I do not recommend Install America to anyone. Stay away from them. No, painting shower tile doesn’t last and is better reserved as a temporary solution to refreshing the look of old tiles. Shower tile paint may last around one to five years, depending on how well you prep the surface before painting, the type of paint you use, the type of tile in your shower, and how often you use the shower.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.

The choice of whether to tile or use an acrylic tub surround is up to you and can be based on a number of factors, including aesthetics, cost, waterproofing, ease of cleaning, and maintenance.

Tile is a beautiful, classic bathtub surround choice; while tile installation cost is higher, it’s customizable and offers visual appeal. Tile is also harder to clean and presents waterproofing problems because of grout lines. Acrylic surrounds can be more affordable, don’t require much maintenance, and are easier to clean. However, they aren’t usually as visually appealing and may need to be replaced if they become damaged.

Epoxy grout is great for showers because it’s waterproof and stain-resistant. However, this type of grout is harder to apply and several times more expensive than cement-based grout (including sanded and unsanded grout). If you’d prefer to use a cement-based grout for your shower, unsanded grout is a better choice than sanded.

Add a T-shaped spacer to each corner of a tile when placing it. You’ll want to nudge the tiles closer together so the spacers are touching each corner. When you’re done installing your tile, you can remove each spacer, wash them, and use them for your next project.
