"Very through, very professional and an eye for detail. Johnathon came to our home and modified the dryer vent on our new washer/dryer. He also cleaned out our dryer vent which was very much in need of it, way too many years of lint and crud buildup. This company is prompt, courteous and professional in every sense of the word. Jonathon is an excellent employee and representative for the company. Prompt, Courteous, reasonable and Professional, they do it all."

"Everything Dillards said they would do they did. From the start; complete date, daily clean up, top notch carpentry for all dry rot, facia and chimney repair and reinstall. The finish product is beautiful and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend Dillards Roofing to anyone who wants a beautiful new roof!!"

"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"It took him about an hour to do the floors and I think a little more effort might have cleaned them up a little better such as spots on it and I was told that some of the paint could have been removed."

"Excellent! I highly recommend this very professional, reliable couple. I've used them for several years, and have recommended them to others (all of whom are satisfied). They treat their clients well and are so agreeable to work with. My house sparkles--and clean places I never even thought to ask."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you’re unsatisfied with the cleaning, address your concerns directly and promptly with your housekeeper or the company. Many professionals offer satisfaction guarantees or will return to address missed areas at no extra charge. Document specific issues and clarify your expectations for future visits to ensure better results and avoid ongoing frustration.

While a biohazard cleanup sounds like a scary process, knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and set you up for success. It’s good to note that more than one professional might be needed depending on your situation, but that will be determined during the assessment. What you can expect during a home biohazard cleanup is the following:

  • Assessment: The first step in this process is for a biohazard cleanup professional to assess the damage. They create a report that includes the biohazard safety level, the needed damage cleanup, and the time it should take to complete the project.

  • Setup: The cleanup professional prepares the site to prevent cross-contamination and reduce toxicity risk. This process can include tarping and creating decontamination zones.

  • Removal of surface contamination: Any contaminated materials are removed from the area, starting with large materials followed by small ones. The professional can assess any floor-related damage once everything is removed from the site.

  • Salvaging items: The biohazard cleanup professionals assess which items can be saved and which are contaminated beyond the point of saving. Those deemed unsafe will be disposed of immediately.

  • Waste disposal: The next step is carefully disposing of the hazardous waste. Your professional will place the contaminated items in specific containers to keep the contamination from spreading.

  • Disinfection: The house will be disinfected and odor-neutralized. Even more minor details, like light switches and bulbs, will be disinfected so that they do not recontaminate the area in the future.

  • Restoration: Once the decontamination is complete, the last step is to restore the home. This includes repairing the damage to flooring, walls, or even the home's foundation.

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.

Homeowners can perform basic cleanup, but for efficient and thorough results, larger-scale or thorough cleaning may be best left to professionals.

As a general rule of thumb, avoid handwashing dishes whenever possible—especially if you have a full sink. Using a dishwasher saves water and better sanitizes your dishes. However, if you have delicate dishwear, high-end glassware, or fragile plastics, you should opt to handwash it to avoid cracks, chips, or warping from the high heat of a dishwasher.
