"Very professional and great groups of fellas doing hard work and leaving an amazing product. I hired them to climb and trim some trees, they were fast, safe, and willing to help out in any way they could. 10 out of 10 I would recommend them to anyone!"

"I couldn't be more pleased with Jorge's Tree Service! They worked very efficiently and left a tidy work space. Communication with both Natilie at the office and Jorge at the sight was good. She supplied me with a COI (Certificate of Insurance) and a simple contract that I requested. Jorge was very brave to go high up in the maple tree and did a good job of making the tree look balanced. They were very careful not to drop a branch on anything but the yard. The crew worked hard on removing the branches dropped and Jorge is very skilled with the saw. Also he drove a good distance at the end of his work day when he had already gotten home to get me an estimate. Recommended!"

"As before Zach was exactly on time and ready to work though the weather was below freezing. A 3 ft diameter 70 ft tall hemlock had been uprooted by a storm and leaning across my drive, supported at the upper end by trees on the opposite side of the drive. I've cut trees for 50 years, but this was too dangerous for me. Zach had all the right gear and safety equipment and worked carefully, steadily, and smart. Soon he had liberated the lower end which came to rest on the drive, still supported at the top by other trees. Two more cuts and the drive was clear. He then cut the sections he had removed and rolled them to one side. Great work at a very reasonable price."

"We had a 60’ maple tree come down as a result of the January 2024 ice storm. Justin, the owner and his crew worked hard and professionally to bring down the remainder of the trunk and cut up, chip, cleanup and haul away all debris. We will be contacting Northwest Excavation and Tree Service in the future should we need similar services"

Small jobs welcome

"My yard hasn’t looked this good in years! It has been covered in blackberries and another invasive species for the past 4 1/2 years since my husband’s death which was my main concern, but they had gentle suggestions for the rest. My favorite was the incorporating of my collection of large white quartz and granite river rock from the banks of the Rogue River from our many vacations on the coast and the use of my mother’s (an avid gardener) statues which they put to good use. (Didn’t realize I had so many of the latter!). They unburied some of the plants I had forgotten about, readjusted climbers, saved my roses, daylilies, a rhodie I thought was dead, and a lilac I thought some previous worker had killed, put weed fabric over every space before replanting the few plants I bought, showed me how to replant with new plants. I’ve had neighbors comment on my “new” front yard and friends on my back yard. And I really enjoyed them!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.

Planting a palm tree close to your home can provide shade while elevating the beauty of your yard. However, there are a few safety concerns to consider before doing so. You’ll want to opt for a smaller tree with a non-invasive root system. Select a species that won’t grow too tall and choose a planting location that won’t damage your home.

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

You will know that an oak tree needs to be removed when you see vertical cracks or dead branch stubs, which indicate internal decay. Other signs include trunk rot near the base of the tree and sprouts or small branches coming from the trunk.
