"We have worked with Nate on several projects since 2011, and he's just finished building a second custom home for us. Nate is very motivated and well-organized, such that he was able to build our home in roughly four months, right through the dead of winter in the Idaho mountains during a local construction boom. He is also VERY budget conscious. By carefully selecting sub-contractors and suppliers, and allowing us to do a couple of small projects ourselves, he brought the entire project in several thousand dollars UNDER budget! This includes several free upgrades such as painted exterior hardware and triple-pane windows. I would recommend Nate to anyone looking to build a quality, practical home on a budget, and on-time."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Kenny and his crew did a excellent job installing 180 feet of new cedar fence on my property. They were very professional, arrived exactly when they said they would and performed the job in a timely and thorough fashion. If you want hard working professionals installing your fence for a fair price, I definitely recommend New Frontier Fence."

"Our 70’s home went from drab to fab! Work performed: popcorn ceilings removed & re-textured, built two walls & enclosed loft, installed a barn door, built a wooden stair rail with balusters, replaced all interior doors & frames, replaced all bifold closet doors & frames, replaced all window & baseboard trim, replaced lighting, installed new bathroom vanities, lights, mirrors & faucets, converted a wood fireplace to an electric fireplace, painted the fireplace brick, replaced tile steps with hardwood steps, and did all the interior painting. Brent did a fabulous job! He is easy to work with and is a great problem solver!"

"Loay Jabbar provided the information I needed quickly and clearly. I immediately signed up for full coverages for our two homes because of the discounts offered and because of the quality of service that Loay is saying and promising Choice Home Warranty provides to its customers. I have bad experiences with other home warranty companies so I am hoping I found the best company that would deliver the best service."

"We got three bids on this roofing project on our primary 1390 sq. ft. residence.  Two of our bidders were Angie's List recommendations. The third bidder wasn't but was highly recommended locally.
John Jones, owner of Mid-Valley Building, was very professional and prompt.  He showed up when scheduled and was prepared. He responded promptly when we asked for modifications to his bid and gave us other options to consider.  We felt like we had selected a good team player when we signed our contract.  He asked for half at signing and the remainder at completion.  He was willing to take credit cards for payment which worked well for us.
John and his teammates showed up at 7:00AM and were done by 3:30PM.  John directed the roofing crew and his mother, Julie, did ground work cleanup. At the end of the day the roof was fully installed and the cleanup was perfect!
At the end of the day we asked for a new roof on our garden shed and John responded with a good bid and completed that add-on within a week.
All of his employees were pleasant and mindful or our property. We couldn't be happier and we highly recommend him and his crew! We will definitely use Mid-Valley Building again in the future.

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

This answer varies based on where you are, but most states require that all homes are greater than 320 square feet. Remember that four walls are not the only requirements—windows, closet space, minimal ceiling heights, and indoor air quality are also factors. Each state and municipality differs, though, and as some don’t consider tiny homes permanent shelters, you’ll need to check to ensure you aren’t violating any local or state laws with your build.

Yes, you can use a storage shed several ways, including as a chicken coop, but you'll need to make some modifications. You will have to add a chicken door, roosts, ventilation near the roof, mesh on the windows, and insulation if you live in a colder climate. Additionally, you’ll want to ensure that the shed is predator-proof so no other animals can harm your chickens. You should also add a run and nest boxes to your shed.

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.

Due to the expansion of the tiny house movement, you can usually find tiny houses to buy in your state. Prices range considerably based on size, style, and type. If you’re looking for a tiny home that’s move-in ready, you may be able to find a good deal to buy or a prefab dealer near you.

The timeline to build your barn will depend on the barn type and the company you hire. A pole barn may take six weeks or so, while a traditionally framed or steel-framed barn can take four months or longer. Building a barndominium takes the longest because you are essentially building a new home. You can expect barndominiums to take six months or longer to build.
