Customers say: True professional

"Stacy is one of the most talented interior designers I have ever worked with. Unlike others who take your information and make the design their own. Stacy asks the right questions and found out MY needs and design likes but incorporated her skill into redoing my rooms. She is highly talented and has a great energy about her. Her personality and qualifications are step beyond. I plan on using her for my next project also."

"We reached out to Elm Construction following a friend’s recommendation. Our contact was Tommy, who supported us throughout the project, making sure we were aligned at every step. He also helped us stay within our initial budget for the kitchen remodeling and ensured everything was delivered on time, as agreed. Thank you, Tommy and the Elm Construction team! "The representative arrived on time. Surveyed the need, and because I had more than two things I'd like to change and add, she helped me decide which of them were the two most important. This was helpful. She measured the windows  and looked up which items would work best, and stay in keeping with my other curtain rods and decor.
She showed me the colors of roller shades available. Nice choices.
I am very happy with what she accomplished.
When the two items were shipped to them, the installer called, arranged the day and hour, and was very nice and friendly in doing his job of installing.
He did it very well. I like the end result.

"I got a deal from Berger about their table pad and just in time for my new dining room set. I didn't have time to set the template due to a new baby in the house. A few months later, they still honored my deal! WOW! I sent it in and they made the pad pretty quick. Shipping was fine and the fit was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone! Truly a good company to work with. A++"

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Most interior designers have at least a four-year degree, if not an advanced degree in interior design. Additionally, many states require interior designers to be licensed. If your state does not require licensing, interior designers can take a licensing exam with the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Overall, licensing requirements vary from state to state, but most licenses require certain education levels and experience to qualify. To check the qualifications of your interior designer, use Angi’s state licensing tool.

Yes, many providers offer design consultations to ensure the furniture meets your needs and style preferences.

Establishing a whole-house color palette gives your home a sense of uniformity and makes your interior look more visually appealing. Overdoing a single color can make your home feel monotonous, while too many colors can create a sense of chaos and disorganization. When in doubt, choose a foundation color and then use complementary colors to accent.

Yes, professionals can install decorative or colored glass block patterns for a unique look.

While the terms 'interior designer' and 'interior decorator' are often used interchangeably, they represent distinct professions with some overlapping work. The primary difference lies in the scope of their projects.

An interior decorator focuses on the aesthetics of a space, making less permanent decisions about decor. Their work involves selecting colors, fabrics, furniture, wall art, paint, and other finishes to 'dress' a room and enhance its style.

An interior designer has a broader scope that includes a decorator's aesthetic focus but also extends to the structural and functional aspects of a space. Designers are qualified to plan layouts, make structural changes, and manage overall functionality. They handle permanent decisions regarding fixtures like cabinets and bathtubs, establish floor plans, and may hire contractors.

Due to the technical skills required, interior designers typically have formal education, certification, and may hold a license, which can result in higher fees. As a general rule, it is best to hire an interior designer for major remodeling projects and an interior decorator for projects focused on establishing or refreshing a home's interior style.
