"There are not enough words to tell you all how impressed I was with Yuri and his wonderful team. Everything you could want from start to finish. He called me within 24 hours of my request. Scheduled an appointment within a few days of our conversation and arrived on time and gave me a same-day quote. He was one of three quotes I received. Yuris quote was reasonable and less than what I painted my house for previously. The prior paint job lasts a whole whopping 5 years. Horrible. Yuri guarantees his work, uses the best paint, and applies it to last longer. Yuri scheduled my house painting within a couple of months from my quote date (wow, I expected six months) and followed through. Yuri has a great team. They are so professional (as is Yuri), they work hard and are quick. Did I mention and so very kind. They blew me away. Their work was so good. As a matter of fact, during the final walk-through I signed off on and after they packed up and left.....they came back! They forgot to paint a little area at the very tippy top of my house (believe me when I say its extremely high up) near a gable I did not see. Wow. How amazing is that?! That is grace folks and they have it in spades. Now I ask you, how the heck can you beat that? Really, they are a dream."

"This was an excellent experience. I was especially impressed by 1) the high quality of the materials and installation, 2) the fact that everything was done exactly on the timeline we were given, all in 3 weeks total, and 3) the exceptional price.
The cabinets are beautiful. The floor is beautiful. The counters are beautiful. We love our new kitchen and bathroom!!!
Our house is 102 years old and has lots of funky corners and uneven areas, and Avenues was great at making it work. The cupboards and counters in the kitchen had to be custom-built around an old chimney, and they did an excellent job. There is a step-down from the kitchen to the back hallway, and the guy from Avenues did a great job of smoothing over this transition so that it is even better than before. The crown molding on the cabinets helps conceal the fact that our floors and ceiling are a little uneven.
When we met with Steve, he said that the demo would be July 9, the cabinets July 10, the floors July 12, and the counters July 24. These installations happened EXACTLY on the days he promised. This meant that we were able to finish our entire remodel in less than a month.
I also appreciated that I never felt Steve was trying to "upsell" us on anything. He understood our budget and the type of kitchen remodel we were doing (modest budget in a funky old house). He was able to make good recommendations, for example telling us about which quartz counters would be most economical.
It's important to know that Avenues was not acting as a general contractor for our remodel. We coordinated all of the other pieces beyond the cabinets, floors, and counters. Angie's List was a great help in finding someone to move the gas stove, finding a plumber, and finding an electrician. If you are willing to run your own remodel, though, I highly recommend the quality and price of Avenues for cabinets, counters, and/or flooring.

"Cabinets are great. Work was fast--less than one week. Final product was all I could hope for, and I'm very happy with it. A few minor issues. Clean up wasn't perfect--I still have a piece of equipment and a drill bit at my house that were left behind a few months ago. Also had some miscommunications--I thought they would provide cabinet pulls and they thought I would. Not a big deal, but had to make a last-minute run to the store for them. I also thought they would install the microwave surround they suggested, but it turns out they only do that if it's all there when they're doing the work (and even then they'r apparently not supposed to); mine arrived damaged and had to be reshipped, so it wasn't there (and still isn't installed...)"

"AWESOME. I have been in the commercial construction management industry for 40+ years. I have a lot of experience with trades and subcontractors all over the west coast - from restaurants, hotels, casinos and the electronic semiconductor market sectors. I can count on 2 hands the companies I would give a 5-Star rating to. Matt with A Better Carpenter is one of them. The quality of his finish carpentry is better than good. His communication is world-class. His personality is warm, his character is top notch, and his pricing is at par with the quality he delivers. I'm sure he knows who wrote this and I did give him permission to use me as a reference. I asked Matt to feel free to give out my name mobile number, and email address. Just say you read this review from the "Tigard exterior column customer". I am not exaggerating - he is that good. He also has a friend who performed the painting who also was really good. I LUCKED OUT. Matt is a better carpenter. most definitely Yes, I hired a finish carpenter for exterior woodwork and boy did it pay off. Too bad you can't post photographs. When I have the funds - I plan on using Matt to install new kitchen cabinetry and counter tops. Matt rocks, period."

"Fine Finish impressed us from the first meeting. Mark provided excellent ideas and drew out some plans while we sat down with him on his computer program, so we could see what things would look like. They were about 2 weeks out on estimates, but Mark referred us to his cabinet builder to work with in the mean time, and he (Cliff) was great.
Once the cabinet budget was set, the estimate came through within about a week, a few days after the initial timeline, but Mark was communicative throughout and let us know work on the estimate and plans was progressing. The budget came in over budget, so Mark let us know what things we could help with, and provided some other ideas to get within a design we loved, with the cabinet line we wanted, and a budget we could live with.
I work from home, and from what I could see, the project ran smoothly. There was some dust and noise during the demo, but the team screened off the area so it didn't come into the rest of the house. Mark arrived on site daily, did quality checks, progress reports with his team and provided us with weekly updates.
The cabinets, countertop and backsplash all work so well together the visual effect is stunning. Friends love hanging around the island (which is a new addition), and we love the extra space.
Our kitchen looks fabulous and we are thrilled with it.

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.

Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.

Refacing cabinets is more cost-effective than total replacement and offers a refreshed look by simply replacing doors and hardware, and applying new surface veneers while retaining existing cabinet boxes.

While it’s possible to reface or refinish kitchen cabinets yourself, it requires substantial time, money, and sweat equity. In particular, cabinet refacing requires many tools and materials, costing you between $1,645 and $6,570, depending on what you already own. Besides that, this is a project that shows imperfections easily. If carpentry isn't your strong suit, hiring a cabinet professional is best to ensure high-quality results.

DIY refacing is possible if you're skilled in precise measurements, cutting, and finishing, but hiring professionals ensures a seamless finish and durable results.

It is cheaper to paint kitchen cabinets than to replace them. Painting costs range from $400 to $1,300, based on the size and complexity of the project and the average costs in your area. In contrast, replacing kitchen cabinets can cost several thousand dollars, including materials, installation, and potential modifications to countertops and plumbing.
