"We needed to get our back yard patio enlarged and also fully landscaped (adding trees, plants, a dry creek feature, etc). From our first meeting with Ryan it was clear that he understood our goals and offered great suggestions we hadn't thought of. His estimate was very complete and competitive, and communication throughout the project was excellent. Ryan and his crew did an awesome job keeping us informed of daily plans and consulting on any adjustments as the project evolved. Work was completed on budget and ahead of schedule by 2 days. We'll definitely look to Rimrock for any needed work in the future."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Using highly flammable fuels like gasoline to burn a stump carries significant safety risks and should be avoided. Gasoline is highly flammable and volatile, potentially leading to uncontrollable fires, explosions, and other environmental hazards. Additionally, the risk of the fire spreading to surrounding areas is much higher with gasoline use. Safer alternatives, such as specialized stump removal chemicals or professional grinding services, are the best options for stump removal.

You can expect Epsom salt and vinegar to take between 6 to 12 months to kill and dry out a tree. That may sound like a long time, but it’s much faster than it takes most tree stumps to die. If your time frame is more limited than that, you may want to call in the stump removal pros to remove the trunk or grind it down, although this may cause more ground damage.

It depends on whether easiest means fastest or least challenging. If you have limited tools or experience, hollowing with a chisel and hammer is the easiest, although it won’t be the fastest approach. Using a chainsaw is much faster, but it comes with more safety risks, especially if you aren’t used to wielding one.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

The average cost of tree removal is $750, though prices can range from $200 to $2,000, depending on factors like the tree’s size and species. Some species, such as aspen or pine, have complex root systems that can drive up the cost of removal. Aside from planting the tree itself, you’ll see additional costs from obtaining a permit, cleaning up the area, and removing debris. Additionally, plan to budget an extra $100 to $150 for stump removal.
