Emergency services offered

"The job was expected to take two weeks, but it lasted three weeks. Victor is very personable and he has an excellent, friendly crew. They were prompt each morning, and they cleaned up after themselves in the evening. When I had trouble choosing wall colors, Victor was able to refer me to a decorator who assisted me. He also referred me to an electrician (Roger King) who was also personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. Removing popcorn from ceilings is never an enjoyable experience, but Victor and his crew made it as comfortable as possible. They did a great job. My home looks beautiful."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

If your home already has wires for a ceiling fan (and optional light kit), then it’s quite safe to wire and install it yourself. Always be very careful to shut off the power before you begin, and confirm that the power is safely off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything. It’s also highly recommended to use eye protection, rubberized gloves, and tools with rubber handles to keep yourself safe from electric shock.

No, a ceiling fan doesn’t have to be wired to a switch, but it’s often more convenient. You can use the included pull chain if your ceiling isn’t too high or install a remote module later, as they are a cheap, easy-to-install option that’ll let you control both the fan and light fixture.

Fans not turning on, wobbling, noisy motors, or faulty remote controls are common issues requiring repair.
