"My girlfriend and I recently contacted All Service Moving to help us relocate our furniture from Seattle to Lake City, and the service from them was amazing! Brad and Donald were personable, professional, speedy, and thorough. I definitely recommended their service if you need lots of stuff moved quickly and hiccup-free. "Victor and his team showed up on time. Somehow, they hadn't gotten the message that we wanted the crew to pack us as well as move us, so they quickly called for more people to help. Moving a six-person hot tub typically requires at least four to six strong individuals. The exact number of people required depends on the hot tub's weight, dimensions, and any obstacles in the moving path. Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.

There are generally three ways to ship furniture to another state: hiring professional movers, using consolidated freight, or through parcel shipping. Professional movers will generally pack your boxes in a truck and transport them to a storage facility or directly to your home. 

A consolidated freight service will pack, load, and ship your items, but this is best to use for one or two pieces since your items will take longer to be delivered and will share truck space with other items. Parcel shipping such as UPS and FedEx is best for smaller items since there are size limits, and you’ll have to drop the boxes off at a local branch.

There are some household items movers won’t pack, while there are others that are important to keep on your person during the move. Don’t pack the following items:

  • Poisonous, hazardous, flammable, or explosive items, including some cleaners, matches, alcohol, and paint

  • Perishable food items

  • Pets and plants

  • Irreplaceable items and documents, such as your passport, will, and medical records

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on. 

If you need to lay the fridge down to move it, position the fridge door hinges so that doors won’t open while moving.
