"I interviewed several companies and quickly found myself gravitating towards actual contractors rather than the sales representatives for remodel companies. Shannon was by far the most knowledgeable about the kind of problems that might emerge in a 1950s house. His bid made sense, and we worked out a strategy for acquiring the materials I really wanted rather than a pre-packaged plan. The process of removal bared several problems with dry rot that I half expected, weird things done to the floor joists and wall studs by a previous remodel that I hadn't expected, and good flooring under a surface for which I had concerns. The result went smoothly, and communication was always good."
