"Kesa was the best plumber we have had in 5 years. He is respectful and has great personality and shows what caused the problem. If we have problems in the future we will request Kesa first! Rescue Rooter is lucky to have him."

"I used Anton for my bathroom and he did an excellent job. He asked excellent questions so he understood what I needed and he was very knowledgeable. I think he is one of the most knowledgeable plumbers in Portland. He gave me some great advice on the direction I should go as well. I trust him to be my plumber moving forward. Thank you Masterworks!!"

"AMAZING! I can t say enough. Their price was thousands cheaper than the THREE other plumbers we talked to. They stuck to their estimate, got the work done on time, left everything clean, and had wonderful customer service. A very reliable company that you can trust."

"So glad I got a second opinion and reached out to this company... Was having some plumbing problems and reached out to a company who said I needed to replace the plumbing under my home which would have cost several thousand dollars. Decided to get a second opinion through axiom where they sent Rob out to my house. Rob assesses the situation and told me my situation was not near as bad as the other company had made it out to be. He was very informative, genuine, and I really appreciated his honestly. Bruce called shortly after and gave me a much more affordable quote and sent Ty out to fix the situation shortly after (which was completed quickly). If I ever have another project, I plan to most definitely use this company. They exceeded my expectations."

Affordable Plumbers FAQs, answered by experts

In most cases, it’s better to repair a toilet than to replace it. Fixing issues like low water levels, running water, and flushing problems is less expensive than buying a new unit. Start thinking about replacement if the toilet is cracked, using excessive amounts of water, or is over 15 years old. Newer models are more water-efficient and clog less often than older models.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

Technically, yes, you can put a shower on a Roman tub, but it's not common. The vast majority of Roman tubs are standalone models. Adding a shower would involve installing a ceiling-mounted curtain rod or a custom glass enclosure, as well as redoing the plumbing, making it neither easy nor budget-friendly.

You don’t need to remove sediment from your water well. Sediment in your water well is normal. The problem is when the sediment enters your water supply. In this case, look into your pump. The size and placement of your pump can lead to sediment in your water. If it’s too big, it’ll overwork and stir up the sediment at the bottom, pulling it into the pump. If it’s too low, it will pull up the sediment that’s settled at the bottom. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends annual well maintenance to check and test for cleanliness, mechanical problems, and contaminants.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.
