TMP is outstanding, and your best choice for a plumber, both residential and commercial. I reside at my employment, and recently we had our annual, large company party. Suddenly, two new problems arose urgently in the business, with three smaller problems in the residences. Fortunately though, Terry and Jamie at TMP were excellent. They worked with us even over the weekend, and fully resolved all 5 things quickly! They were outstanding in every way: very professional, great communicators, excellent work, and very flexible. Again, TMP is your best choice for a plumber, both residential and commercial.

Terry Massey plumbing replaced all of the eroding galvanized steel pipes in our home with new PVC piping this summer, which was a really big job. Terry and crew went out of their way to minimize the time we were without water. The price was fair, compared with other bids we received, and they didn't charge us a penny more than the estimate in spite of some challenges which came up as the work proceeded. Because of the pandemic I was holed up out of sight in a bedroom adjacent to the bathroom, which allowed me to overhear their conversations. While I had little understanding of the technical measures they discussed, what I heard clearly was a deep commitment to doing the job well and high standards of professionalism. We had a lot of work done on our house this year, almost all of it fraught with annoyances and failures to deliver what was promised. Terry Massey and team were the exception, doing a great job within the proposed budget and timeline.

Terry does great work. Very courteous and professional. Fixed everything I asked for on original quote and checked out the rest of the houses fixtures to make sure they were good. His work is top notch. I’d recommend him to anyone needing plumbing work done.

We needed to have the freestanding faucet/hand shower for our claw foot tub taken out so the tub could be refinished. It was a complicated job and took much longer than we expected, but he seemed to do a good job. However, when he returned to replace the pipes and faucet problems started happening. He didn't communicate well with us and we realized after he left that he had not put the over flow drain back the way we wanted it. He came back to fix it and it took two visits before he got it right. Then we started having problems with the handle that toggles between bath and shower, which he had treated carelessly when he was putting everything back in place and he replaced a washer for the hand spray with the wrong part. He came back again and put in the correct washer and charged us for the visit. Soon the hand spray stopped working properly and after talking with the manufacture we determined that we needed to replace the diverter cartridge & piston. Terry returned to replace the diverter cartridge & piston, we paid him and after he left we discovered that the hand spray dripped in the bath position when we turned on the faucet. We called to ask to have this corrected and were told there was nothing more he could do. We brought another plumber in who determined that the leak was due to a scratch in the valve cover that probably happened when Terry was replacing the diverter cartridge & piston. So now we have to replace the entire faucet.

"Terry went 9/27/17 and gave a bid $ 400.00 to [Member Name Removed] and Elaine for removing piping so they could have it refinished, within 24 to 36 hours reconnect piping waste and water and fixtures. remove was 10/9/17 re connection was 10/11/17 Terry install waste was more difficult then he thought it should be but he stayed with his quoted price and installed over flow as code requires for in case leave tub on it will empty in over flow without running over onto floors and ruining them, he was not told by [Member Name Removed] or Elaine that they take baths together and like to have the water over the over flow for a deeper water. on 10/17/17 Terry returned and blocked over flow at customers request. 10/20/17 Terry returned to re check over flow as customer said it was still leaking some water through. 11/3/17 Terry returned customer complained that faucet was dripping, replaced washers and told customer that faucet should be replaced customer said they paid a lot for faucet and didn't want to buy a new one. Terry let them know that there was not much more he could do to help function of there old faucet. Customer ordered a new cartridge divertor, which is what switches water from shower hand held to tub. 5/3/18 Terry returned to put in part and said he lubricated and slid it in and it fit just like the old on but when re was done it was not leaking just like he was not leaking when he left the previous times before. He also had done other service but only changed them $ 135.00 5/7 [Member Name Removed] call to say it is still leaking I tried to schedule her the next week as I was over schedule the current week she insisted to be seen that week I said I would try to work her in if Terry got time at end of a day. She insisted to know by Friday I said I could schedule Tues. or Wed the following week. On 5/14/18 I got a letter saying that [Member Name Removed] was going to file a complaint with the CCB if she did not hear from us with in 10 days I called that afternoon and spoke with Elaine and told her that Terry could be there next day Tues 5/15/18 at 9am for service and if they where not happen return there $ 135.00 She said they already had a plumber and just wanted to complain, but she would speak with [Member Name Removed]. I got a call 5/14/18 and [Member Name Removed] ask for the return of the $ 135.00 We are the 3rd plumbers that have worked with them. Now I know we can't always please everyone, we sure do try."

I had a sewer gas smell in my house. The leak was located by American Leak Detection and identified to be coming from the base of the toilet. Their best guess was that it was a cracked wax ring.
I called Terry Massey Plumbing to fix it. Terry and his son came over to fix it, and discovered that it was not a cracked wax ring; in fact there was no wax ring at all, but the toilet had been set too high (I had my bathroom redone 2 years ago, and the floor was lowered from the original height. Instead of re-setting the toilet, the contractor kept it at its original height, thus also creating the need to put about an inch of unsightly grout around the base of the toilet). So the job was somewhat bigger than planned. Terry had to re-set the toilet to match the new height of the floor, and a bonus from that was getting rid of the grout around the base.
It ended up costing quite a bit more than the estimate. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have gotten a new estimate when he discovered the complications. But I was expecting it to cost more, so it wasn't too much of a shock, and he ended up charging me for time and materials, and I feel that the final price was very reasonable. The work was still completed within the same day.
They did a good job cleaning up.

Identified and fixed the issue with the dishwasher even though he could have just told me to call the appliance people as it was an appliance problem not a plumbing problem. If he had done this, the cost would have been $118.75 since there was a minimum fee of 1 hour. Because there was a minimum one hour charge, he asked if there was anything else I needed and that is why the other work beyond the dishwasher was done. He did have another person with him and so I ended up paying for 2 man hours for all that they did in the one hour that they were here (maybe actually a little more than one hour but they only charged one hour). I really do feel that I got my money's worth on this visit as the other work really did need to be done and they both worked on separate issues the whole time after the dishwasher solution was figured out.

They showed up on time and determined the best way to do the job. They plumbed the sink where I wanted it, and did very little damage to the sheetrock installing the pipes. They cut out all the holes for the pipes in the piece of sheetrock that they had cut out and replaced the piece in a very professional manner. Sheetrock repairs will be minimal. They were excellent in cleaning up when they were done, and completed the job in a timely manner at a fair price.

We've been using Terry Massey Plumbing for over 9 years. We're repeat customers because Terry is a great plumber as well as a great person. He repairs things when they can be fixed and only replaces things if they can't be repaired. This last repair was tricky and involved more than one trip to fix things. Who does copper anymore? The work he did was art. A gleaming 1" copper line comes in straight as an arrow below grade and then continues in the basement ceiling nearly the length of the house. The routing of the drops off of it are precise, well thought out and clean. We had three contractors in doing work at the same time. His was the only work that passed inspection on the first go around.
Before I hired him, went and looked at a house down the street where Terry had done a complete redo of the plumbing, this time in PEX,
It is a massive house; a gutted remodel with an added second floor and a full basement. Just as would happen in our house, Terry found the right path to keep the job trim and neat.
In on time. Done on time. Done right the first time. Fabulous.

Terry, John, and crew showed up as scheduled and we discussed how best to approach the problem. At first we were going to run a new water service from the meter to the house, bypassing any potential leaks, but discovered the piping had been replaced at some point in the past with copper into the only crawlspace by the garage. Terry didn't skip a beat, asked the drilling company for a break, and only charged $100 for them showing up. He, John, and apprentice repaired the water meter service connection which had been leaking. John repaired a yard hydrant shutoff buried in the ground with a new ball valve and access cover.
The gas water heater was almost rusted out, so that was replaced. They ran a new water line from the water heater to the bathroom, removed part of the concrete block for access and repiped a new shower valve toilet, and vanity sink. From there they extended the lines along a soffit in the ceiling to the kitchen, and kitchen sink. John ran a new line in the ceiling joists to pick up the icemaker for the refrigerator. Terry tied the new shower drain into the old cast iron line.
This job was difficult and it turned out better than expected. The job was off Linwood Avenue and SE Monroe area.

My experience with them was good. They did a quality job. I had another contractor come and finish my bathroom, and he too was really impressed with their work. They were a little rough with the property; some plants and stuff were damaged. They are plumbers; so they just do their job and leave. I would use them again in the future; in fact, I am using them again next week to finish the plumbing.

It went well. The original toilets we had didn't fit, so they found us options that would. After the pipes were replaced, the water pressure was so much better that the drains couldn't keep up. They found and fixed the clog.

Old galvanized metal water main failed shortly after the city installed a new water meter. Old water line ran about 40 feet from the meter at the curb, under a poured in place concrete porch, and through a 3 or 4 ft thick concrete basement wall. Replacement line is a 1 inch I.D. PEX line which is routed under the basement wall, up through the basement floor, and along a basement wall/beam to a shutoff valve and connection to the pre-existing copper plumbing. Concrete patch work for the basement floor was very neatly done. New PEX line installation in basement, and attachment to existing plumbing were neatly done and look good. Upon completion of the job, Terry checked EVERY faucet (basement, 2 stories, and outside), temporarily removing the aerator (if present), and testing/flushing the fixture to check for and clear any possible debris. I was impressed with Terry's thoroughness and professionalism.
