"Walter and Glen at Protect Your Home Group with ADT are the best people to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

"I had a bit of trouble with my molding around the doors vs how the system was designed. The tech guy hung with me for 39 minutes until it was perfect. I called customer service a couple times after that with questions that came up. The customer service team are professional and knowledgeable."

"I switched from another company to Security One, they use the same equipment. They had to come out and recode everything. I simply switched because of the financial benefit. I have only had them for a few months, and I haven't had any problems with them. They save me some money every month.  When my alarm went off, they did call me."

"He is a great handyman. He charges on an hourly basis. He is great and is very creative. He can figure out something where I can’t get the part or there is no obvious way to fix something. So it is a good kind of person to have. I have been using his services for four years and as needed."

"John replied to me within an hour of my request and came 15 min early which was refreshing. John provided an estimate electronically which broke down the schedule, costs and even separated material costs from his labor which we appreciated. John and his office were very professional and friendly and he did a great job on my deck and remodeling of our hall bathroom. I really liked the way both projects turned out and I wouldn't hesitate to hire Can-Do again in the future. Highly recommend!"

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

As with any computer, smart locks can be hacked by someone with the technical skills to do so, but most people do not have that ability, making smart locks relatively safe. If you have any concerns about a compromised smart lock, opt for an encrypted smart lock, change your Wi-Fi password, and make sure that you only give out your password to trusted family and friends.

While lock crunching as a whole is not terribly common, it is one of the most frequently used means of forced entry into a home. Recent data suggests that forced entry through lock crunching or snapping occurs in more than 25% of burglaries.

You might assume that having two locks on one door will offer more protection than only one lock, but there may not be an advantage. While there’s nothing wrong with having two locks if you feel it’s best for your living situation, rest assured having one high-quality deadbolt installed correctly will offer a high level of protection.

Smart locks offer a similar level of safety to traditional or conventional locks because they often use comparable locking mechanisms, such as deadbolts. The primary difference is the access method: smart locks use a login or code instead of a physical key, which adds convenience. While not inherently safer, some smart locks have added security features that can deter intruders, like shutting down after too many incorrect code attempts or being harder to pick. For the best security, it's recommended to combine any lock with other home safety features like motion-activated lighting, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

Yes, you should always change your locks after buying a house. Do so as soon as possible after you move in. Otherwise, you won’t know who has working keys to the property, whether they’re spare keys or otherwise. If an intruder gains access to your house with a key, it may not be covered under your homeowners insurance.
