"Rod is professional and exceptional at making custom cabinets. The bathroom vanity even has pull outs in the cabinets for easy access. He is excellent at design I hired him to pick out my countertop, cabinet hardware and colors of the paint and luxury vinyl. I will definitely hire him for my kitchen cabinets and design."

"The team was prompt and responsive. The job took exactly the length of time they had estimated, including the "jobs within the job" (the sanding was done on the day they said, as was the staining and finishing. Cabinets look great!

"Jeremy was really good at working on the fly because I was unsure of my plan so he had to be able to adapt as we went. He came up with ideas I had not thought of that were excellent. He worked fast and got one whole wall remodeled in 2 days including old cabinets removed and new cabinets and stove installed and new sheet rock on wall. He also built a base to raise everything several inches higher. He’s coming back for the bathroom work."

"I expected to spend several thousands of dollars so the price was a nice suprise. He had the hot water heater with him, he could have replaced it and billed me and I wouldn't have known any better. It turned out I had used him before through another company so he was already familiar with my home and plumbing situation, so that was a positive."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Solid wood is the most common material for cabinet bases. It’s a popular choice because it’s durable and will hold up over time. Oak, maple, cherry, hickory, and pine are all types of solid wood that can be used to build cabinet bases. Other options include plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of manufactured lumber, but they need to be sealed properly to avoid swelling, separating, and delamination from moisture.

If your cabinets don’t reach the ceiling, you can extend them higher, adding visual interest, privacy, and storage space to your kitchen. Depending on the height of your ceiling, you may want to extend the structure of the cabinets and install longer doors to make each individual cabinet taller, or you could add additional cabinets above the existing ones. Either option is cheaper and easier than installing entirely new cabinets.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

It depends on your carpentry skills and the type of cabinets you purchase. If you have a high level of skill, then it’s most likely going to cost less for you to build your own garage cabinets. It will take longer than purchasing pre-built cabinetry, but it will decrease your overall labor cost.

For safety when installing a vanity, attaching the vanity to the wall is ideal to prevent it from moving. Typically, sinks must be 4 inches away from bathtubs. Also, most states require that you have 21 inches in front of a sink, but the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommends 30 inches for more comfort.
