"Omar and his team were courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and fast! They helped us repair some damaged siding, brick window sills, and finished off some masonry work on our house. When they found some additional hidden problem areas, they notified us and provided very fair and reasonable pricing to resolve. Extremely responsive and prompt repair service."

"Precise Home Specialties did an excellent job for us. We have a Tudor style home, which is not easy to paint. Their attention to detail and prep work were the best we've had in our 30+ years of home ownership. Would highly recommend."

"I hate home improvement project but Jesus and his crew were amazing. It was not painful at all. Lol Added a french drain , removed and replaced driveway , added an additional driveway and at the last minute added a slab for a storage building all at my residence and in a timely manner. Jesus came by every day to check in, all of the gentlemen that worked on the projects were great. Everything looks amazing the clean up was great I would not be happier."

"They removed and filled a 2800 gallon pond., installed dirt and covered the area with river rock. They built flower beds including one that was 3 tiered and made them ready for planting. The crew and Kirk are easy to work with and they clean up after each work day. They have a great eye for aesthetics and made things better than I anticipated. I highly recommend Midwest Retaining Walls and would hire them again."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

In Tulsa, homeowners often underestimate the effects of clay soil movement and freeze-thaw cycles on masonry work. Choosing the wrong materials for local conditions, neglecting drainage improvements, or skipping required permits can cause major issues. Hiring contractors unfamiliar with Tulsa’s climate or starting projects during extreme heat or rain are also frequent errors. Failing to budget for hidden foundation repairs is another common oversight.

Helpful?

Be wary of masonry work quotes in Tulsa that are unusually low, lack detail about materials or project scope, or don’t mention the need for permits. If a contractor avoids discussing how they’ll address Tulsa’s clay soil and frequent storms, or can’t provide recent local references, that’s a concern. Also, avoid those who demand large upfront payments or use vague language about timelines and warranties.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Tulsa should prioritize a thorough foundation inspection to identify settling or moisture issues. Next, ensure proper grading and drainage to handle local rainfall and protect against water intrusion. Inspect chimneys and mortar joints for wear, especially before winter. Upgrading walkways, repairing retaining walls, and adding patio spaces can also enhance curb appeal and long-term durability for your property.

Helpful?

In Tulsa, it’s smart to schedule masonry work if you spot cracks wider than 1/4 inch, flaking bricks, or mortar erosion, especially after heavy rain. Watch for leaning chimneys, uneven walkways, or water pooling near your foundation. Spring and fall are ideal for repairs, as milder weather helps materials cure properly and prevents further damage from freeze-thaw cycles or summer storms.

Helpful?

In Tulsa, watch for hairline cracks that expand after rain, small patches of white residue (efflorescence), or mortar gaps that seem to grow over time. Slight tilting of retaining walls or minor water seepage in basements can quickly worsen due to shifting clay soil. If you notice these early warning signs, prompt attention can help you avoid more extensive masonry repairs down the line.
