"Omar and Maria from Constructo were very responsive to all aspects of my project from start to finish. Omar protected the work area and was neat and thorough in his cleanup. The work on my chimney exceeded my expectations. Omar took before and after photos to give me a close up look at the brick and mortar repairs. This work was done correctly with the customer's wishes in mind throughout. I would highly recommend Constructo for any masonry work and will likely use them again on future projects."

"They did the complete job in a very timely fashion. I was pleased with the way they started and worked very diligently. Each one on the crew knew what their task was and did if. I have already recommended Jesus Reymos and his crew from RN Construction Company. I am very pleased with the quality of concrete they used as well as their workmanship. I would use them again in the future, if the occasion would arise."

"We are very satisfied with their work. Workers were very professional and the hardest working group I have ever seen. They installed an under the floor drainage system along a 60 foot basement wall. We have had no water on our basement floor since it was installed 2 months ago. We have had multiple downpours since then. We had water on our basement floor every time it rained before their installation. We highly recommend them."

"They were great. They arrived when they said they would. Did the job, answered all of the questions that we had. Explained how it all worked as they were doing the job. Then cleaned up everything very well. They were all very friendly and very nice. I am so pleased with the job they did for me. My driveway looks so much better. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their concrete driveway leveled."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Masonry is an umbrella term that involves adhering individual building materials together using an adhesive, so many different things are considered masonry. These include constructing stone or brick walls or facades, installing stucco siding, installing backsplashes or tile floors, and even installing glass block windows, in some cases. Masonry materials include natural stone, clay bricks, concrete bricks, glass blocks, and tiles.

Yes, as long as the cut is clean and the brick remains structurally sound, you can reuse it. Reusing brick is especially common for landscaping, edging, and small masonry repairs. Just make sure to file down any sharp edges before handling or installing it.

You may not need a hammer drill if you’re planning on drilling one or two very small diameter holes in brick. For holes with a diameter of 3/16-inch or less, a regular drill with a masonry bit can do the job. However, the bit will heat up quickly, and the process will take significantly longer than with a hammer drill. Prepare to cool your drill bit down in a bucket of water more often.

You can turn a red brick white through a process called whitewashing. Whitewash isn’t a stain but rather is made from water and white latex paint. Adding more water to the mix will make the solution look lighter when applied, and adding more paint will make it look more white.

A fireplace is, by definition, an enclosed space where you burn wood or other fuel for the purpose of generating light and heat. A firepit burns wood and is much less expensive to build, but they aren’t technically a fireplace as it isn’t enclosed. An outdoor oven—commonly outdoor brick pizza ovens—often uses wood as fuel, but its primary purpose is to cook food, and you’d rarely just burn wood inside them for warmth or aesthetic reasons.
