Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job. However, some people will tip a handyman around $10 to $20 per hour or the equivalent of a day’s pay, depending on the size of the job. But it’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping a handyman service, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip, it’s encouraged and will likely be received with thanks.

A tip is not necessary. If you feel that a handyman did a great job for you, the best thing you can do for them is boost their reputation by leaving reviews on as many sites as possible and spreading by word of mouth how good they are. A tip is temporary but a reputation creates a business!

New Tulsa homeowners should prioritize weatherproofing by inspecting roofs, gutters, and storm doors for leaks or damage. Check for air leaks around windows and doors, and service the HVAC system for energy efficiency. Address moisture by installing exhaust fans and waterproofing basements. For safety, update smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, test garage doors, and add security lighting—these steps help protect your home from Tulsa’s climate and seasonal storms.

For a durable mailbox repair, set posts using high-strength concrete poured deep enough to resist soil heaving. Select pressure-treated lumber rated for ground contact to withstand wet Tulsa springs. Use Type S mortar for brick projects to endure frequent temperature swings. Finish the job with galvanized steel fasteners and UV-resistant exterior coatings to protect against intense sun exposure and high summer humidity.

Helpful?

In Tulsa, expansive clay soils cause significant ground movement, leading to leaning or heaving posts that require mailbox repair. High summer humidity also accelerates rust on metal hinges and doors. Additionally, intense UV exposure quickly degrades post coatings, while frequent freeze-thaw cycles cause mortar joints on brick mailboxes to crack. Finally, severe thunderstorms and high winds frequently damage structural posts and dent metal boxes.

Helpful?

Overwatering your lawn near the post saturates OK clay soils, undermining recent mailbox repair by causing the ground to heave. Hitting the post base with a string trimmer strips protective finishes and invites rot. Piling heavy mulch against a wooden post traps moisture, accelerating decay. Furthermore, neglecting drainage around brick setups allows standing water to erode mortar quickly during heavy spring rains.
