"This was the absolute worst company to deal with. A week without hot water, close to $600 lighter and 2 trips from 2 different plumbers from this same company, we are no better off. Neither plumber that came out spent longer than 5 min with the tank and the office got rude, defensive, and combative when asked legitimate questions why they didn't do the recommended service or make it right. I called the manufacturer of the hot water tank. They advised a whole list that should have been done to diagnose the issue to which not one was done on either trip. With 4 school age kids in the house that need hot water for baths, boiling water for dishes ECT it's absolutely hard. I'm frustrated and hurt. I feel like I have been taken!!!I called this company to convey to them that they have not made it right and I was taken. They told me to contact the manufacturer and hung up,I did and that was their mistake.I will be contacting my bank to see where I stand! Beware! They take advantage of people!"

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

Sometimes. While many traditional homes use copper, galvanized steel, PVC, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and PEX, mobile homes will typically use PVC, CPVC, or PEX. These materials are more flexible, easier to work with, and handle colder temperatures.

In most cases, yes, it’s safe to light a gas water heater manually, but you should shut the gas off first, open a window, and let the space air out for about 10 minutes. Modern water heaters shut the gas off entirely if the pilot light goes out, but airing out the area beforehand is good practice and will ensure it’s safe to relight your pilot light manually. Just make sure you turn the gas valve to “pilot” before lighting. If the light keeps going out or won’t light at all, call in a professional.

If your home uses more than one gas appliance, you'll continue to use gas, even outside of the heating season. Your water heater, gas stove and oven, and gas dryer will all use some gas, although typically much less than a furnace. Additionally, those appliances may also have a pilot light that is lit continually, using a small amount even when no one is at home.

The size of a pipe isn’t always the outside or inside diameter. Rather, it’s a nominal diameter that depends on the type of pipe. For male pipes, you’ll need to measure the outside diameter. For female pipes, you’ll need to measure the inside diameter. You’ll then need to use a nominal diameter conversion chart to get the actual pipe size you’d buy in the store.

No, Teflon tape will not stop a gas leak. In fact, no type of tape is the solution to a gas pipe leak. If you suspect a leak, turn off your home’s gas supply and contact a pro or your utility immediately. Teflon tape is only for preventing leaks during pipe installation, not for repairing existing leaks.
